I have only had this a day and love it. It's easy to use and I like how there is no cd player. The layout is nice and it works like an i pod. There are some nice features with it. Also, the sound is very clear and you can hear a difference vs. your stock radio. Could use some more features but I am more than happy with it.

I have always been a big fan of Alpine products. They are high quality and they look and feel fantastic, but this unit is very cumbersome to operate. Let me explain. The first important note is that you can't operate your iPod from your iPod. You have to use the unit interface and search knob instead. Consider this the first sign of trouble.
Second: the search knob is slow. If you have more than a few hundred songs in your library you will find yourself spending ridiculous time searching.
Second: the location of the search knob compared to the screen is not ideal. For American drivers at least, the unit will be placed to the driver's right, impairing the view of the screen by the driver's own interaction with the unit's only search feature, the search knob. I find myself wishing to engage directly with my iPod.
I am not refusing to recommend this product. The quality and hardware is all Alpine. I just want to give it a fair review and an honest opinion. After two months using mine, I will soon be replacing it. I hope this is helpful.
