Great purchase
Very versatile, can be used as multiple devices. I keep 16gb of music in the sd card and another 16gb in the usb memory slot. Thats over 20,000 songs. I am also able to keep kids dvds in the drive, so if I want to switch from music to kids shows its really easy.

The ultimate in car media
I bought the Jensen VM9512HD as an upgrade from my older Jensen model. I absolutely love this. I love the touchscreen, and combined with the iPod it's amazing. The dvd player is great too. The expandability on this unit is amazing. With inputs for NAV, backup camera, more screens....
I highly, highly recommend this unit if you can sink the money into it. You will not be disappointed.

love the jensen vm9512hd
It's been 6 months since i purchased the jensen 9512hd and simply love it. From the touch screen, to the ease of use, to the way it looks in my truck , to it's value, it's all great. I highly recomend this head unit. And for Sonic, the unit was delivered on time as promised and well packaged to minimize any damage which may be caused by the uncaring delivery personnel.

a good radio for the money
I have looked at other radios with the same features as this one and this is a lot cheaper priced but still as good

A lot of great features for the price! Great Value!
I would recommend this product. It combines almost all the features into one device. The quality of the picture on the screen is very clear and the touchscreen works great! No more touching preset function keys to work your unit with this product because if it is on the screen you can press it. I'm very happy with this product.

Great Product for the money
The Jensen VM9512HD does everything really well the sound quality is good, the touch screen works very nicely, and its easy to setup. I don't think this would be good for someone who wants a high performance system but it is great for the everyday person. The only problem i had with the radio is the front screen went for a few days and it just fixed itself (not sure what happen)

Not for me
My decision to purchase this head unit was with many hours of research prior to the purchase. I am a middle aged, tech savy, man that loves rock and country. I have a keen ear for clarity and no matter what type of sound system that I am building, if doing this for myself, clarity is of the utmost importance, after all, music is the no. 1 reason for a car stereo and anything else is just extras. With that said, I decided to give Jensen a chance. I knew that back in my head pounding days (1980's) the Jensen brand was not the best brand but not the worst. However, after reading many reviews on this unit, including the Jensen website, It appeared to beranked as a high-end unit. Plus it came with many extras (HD radio tuner, built in Blue Tooth, SD Card capable, etc...). All these features plus the specs compared to the big brand audio (Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, etc...), this was an excellent deal. After all, $400.00-$600.00 is alot of cash for me to spend out on a head unit, plus the Jensen offered alot of extra features. I purchased the unit and spent about 3 to 4 hours installing it. My entire build consist of: door speakers with Cerwin Vega 68's (4), MTX Thunderform subwoofer enclosure w/ dual Rockford Fosgate 8" punch subwoofers, 1-P200 Punch amp for the subs, and a Jensen POWER PLUS 840 4-Channel amp for the 4 door speakers. After completing the entire installation, I turned on the head unit. These are my findings over the next 7 days: The unit had to be reset 5 times due to screen locking up, pressed a FM preset button 1 time and it erased all my presets, There is a constant humm in the subwoofers even at volume level 1, the unit rebooted itself twice, no matter how much I worked with the equalizer settings I just could not get the clarity that I was looking for, 3 times the volume froze on the unit causing me to reset the unit in order to get the volume control function back, the unit will only read at 64kbpsfrom the SD card, The unit played DVD's fine and the HD tuner was nice. One disappointing item that I found was that the unit did not have any sort of sorting functions for audio files on a USB drive or SD card. When you put 122 albums on a drive to play on the unit, it became very frustrating to try and locate a song. Also, if a song was playing from one of these drives and you wanted to locate the next song to play, the music would quit playing while you are locating the next song. However, do not base my single experience as your reason to or not to purchase the unit. I believe that my unit was simply defective and I in no way have hard feelings towards Sonic Electronix because of this. Sonic went over and above my expectations in assisting me with this unit, their customer support was A++++++! I hope that I have assisted you in your efforts to make a more informed decision. PS: The Jensen amp is excellent and I purchased the Kenwood KVT-819DVD to replace the Jensen ($280.00 more) and gave me the quality of sound that I was looking for. I will write a review on the Kenwood soon!

Problems after 2 months
I was really excited about this unit. It has many features for a good price. The unit installed easily. After some use I found the bluetooth not very useful. Folks on the other end complain of too much background noise. Most likely it's because of the lack of a remote mic. The unit would have problems with my IPOD. It would just start scrolling through songs every couple of seconds. Both of these issues were somewhat just nuisances. The big problem set in just two months after use. It will no longer play DVDs. It just reports BAD DISC. I've tried several discs and cleaning and nothing works. I'll be sending the unit back and trying to replace with something else.

Jensen VM9512 is awesome
I have spent lots of time researching the in dash dvd players that are out there and comparing features and cost. This unit is without question the best value when it comes to features and visual appeal.
This unit is at the price point of the cheap no name brand units that have terrible looking user interfaces and poor quality features, yet it excels in both these areas. I think the medialink module is one of the coolest things out there, i love it. It can hook up to everything and it looks great installed too.
Also, this unit comes with all cables and accessories necessary to take advantage of its features, as compared to JVC or Alpine or any other big name brand unit that is twice the cost and still charges you another $150 for the bluetooth.
The only con is that the bluetooth is sensitive to road noise to a certain extent. If the windows are down it will be tough for others to hear you clearly, they can still here you but they can tell that you are on a speaker phone or something like that. With windows down and good volume of speech, it works great.
Purchase this and you won't be sorry at all, you'll love it and look to Jensen for your future purchase.
