Unbelievable (with modification) vs the generic wedge box
This is an awesome deal for the price. I had the generic wedge .1cuft 6x9 box for awhile, and every time bass would hit, the speakers would distort (running Pioneer T-D6902R at 50watts) and cut out the mid-range sound. These are great speakers so I knew it wasn't their fault they were distorting. So I decided to get a larger box. This is just about the largest pre-built 6x9 box you can find (.358 cuft according to my measurements). Unfortunately it does have some issues. First it doesn't come with internal wires (not a problem, I had plenty of wire and plugs) and the "port" is misleading. First of all its not 2" diameter, its more like 1.75". Also the plastic has the strength of an egg shell, expect it to break as the gill was broken out of the box. And in a box that is .35cuft with that size of a port, it is tuned at 75'ish Hz.. And believe me it showed when I first installed the speaker. As soon as it went below that frequency the woofer lost its back pressure (and sounded horrible) due to the port size. It was acting like it was sitting in free-air. So I decided to extent the port. I bought 1.5" PVC pipe and put 7 inches of pipe into the port making it flush with the top. The pipe was a perfect fit within the port, showing it is not 2" as the descriptions claims. Well at .35 cuft with my new 7" 1.5 diameter port it is now tuned to 41hz (lowest I could make it). Plus there is only about a half to a quarter of an inch of space below the port and the base of the box (restricting airflow into the port) so it acts a lot like a sealed case. The speakers hit down to 30hz even though the box is not tuned for it. After I had done this the 2 6x9's rival my JL 8W3 subwoofer (running at 200 watts) for bass, plus they don't distort any midrange at all now when the bass hits. Sorry for the long review, I just wanted to let yall know how good of a box this is (with modifications). It will blow the top of any 6x9 in a wedge box will allow your 6x9 to perform at its best.

I bought this box at a great price, and also because they seemed to be the only option made to fit my car perfectly. My subs sound great in this box, the design is perfect, definitely go with a ported box! The subwoofer terminals are a good design and easy to use, they're not those cheap, easily breakable clip type. This box says heavy-duty. Great for the application. I have 2 10" Infitys in it at 300w a piece & they sound incredible. Buy this box!

These ported boxes make a huge difference over the smaller sealed wedge shaped boxes. I have a pair of JL AUDIO VR series 6 X 9 's which are amazing speakers by the way! Anyway I had them mounted in a pair of the sealed wedge boxes and they sounded great with excellent mids and highs and pretty decent lows. However I had a sneaky suspicion they could play allot lower and louder in some ported boxes. So I ordered up the larger ported boxes here at Sonics website. And OH BOY what a difference a box makes!! I have them placed in my hatch of my little Honda civic facing the glass just like my old subs used to when I had them. And man do they ever hit for a pair of 6 X 9 's. They may not hit as hard as a pair of tens but they certainly put out enough bass and play low enough to satisfy me. A co-worker actually thought I had subs running in the back. He was shocked when I popped the hatch to reveal two 6 X 9 's. By the way the build quality is pretty good considering the price. They definitely could have been sealed better on the seams on the inside. I am going to take mine back out and run some silicone or glue in the seams to seal it better. But even so these boxes make your speakers sound amazing!! You won't be disappointed!!!

Compared to a set of smaller enclosures I previously used, these boxes substantially improved the bass quality of the speakers in my 1973 Corvette. I am very happy with them.

This box gives out some hella bass when I hooked it up to just one of my Kenwood 500 watt 5 way the bass thumped so loud I only got one thought I would get another but thats okay gonna get another one soon for my other 6x9 Kenwood
There was only one problem and that was that when I got it the cheap plastic cross whatever things had broken off but thats okay I just finished it off and it looked even better other than that get it will def thump louder if your looking for bass

Great product. Good construction. Very sturdy. The only fault I had was the plastic mesh infront of the little port broke off. NOT A PROBLEM though. I like my ports unrestricted anyway so i broke off the rest.

You can't beat these ported 6X9 boxes for the money. I doubt you could build them yourself for this price anyway? I was basically looking to get some extra bass out of my JL audio 6X9's and these little boxes answered my call. Its like night and day going from the standard wedge boxes to these. Its actually pretty amazing how low a pair of 6X9's can play in a ported box. If you have the room in the back of your vehicle then I highly recommend the ported boxes verses the sealed wedge ones!
