A let down of the TEAC reputattion for quality and inovation

I have been buying TEAC products for well over 30 years now. So When it came time for a new 5 disc player, of course I went with TEAC. I looked up a 5 disc om Amazon and up popped a Teac in the $200 range. I said to myself "It's a TEAC so it must be good. I only use a 5 disc player when not playing songs from my computer into my stereo sysstem." Well, I got even less than I thought a $200 machine would give. Playback is sub par (per music analysis apps) and the display is lacking information. Yes it is an expensive machine; but not what I would expect of a TEAC machine.
