Specifically engineered polymer baskets are corrosion and UV-resistant and encapsulate the tweeters' motor system to prevent corrosion. JL Audio utilizes Ultraviolet testing chambers (to simulate years of sun exposure) and Salt Fog chambers (to simulate years of exposure to salt-water environments) to ensure that the M-Series not only sound great in your boat, but will also sound great for many, many years.
A 1.0" pure silk dome component tweeter handles the high-frequency duties within the M-Series. Silk has been chosen for its lightness, excellent damping properties and smooth response characteristics that ultimately result in extremely transparent audio. You will appreciate the clean, articulate high-frequency response of the M-Series dome tweeter, especially at higher volume levels. The tweeter is optimized to provide sound that will cut through even the most demanding of marine environments. This tweeter MUST be used with an appropriate crossover network or high-pass filter. A pair of inline high-pass filters is supplied in this kit. Please use them if no other crossover is being applied.

Great tweeters
They are a great tweeter with good looks. I wouldn't have had to purchased these if they made a 6.5 marine component. I had some previous tweeter holes to fill. I purchased 6.5 marine coax and these tweeters. I've got a lot of high pitch in that area but I can just unplug the coaxial tweeters from the back of that 6.5 which is great.
