Balanced Armature
Operating on different terms than traditional drivers, balanced armature drivers are significantly more compact and efficient. This allows for a lustrous comfort and a precise end result. Westone implements sophisticated 2-way and 3-way multi-BA driver configurations to further improve sound detail and expand to a full and rich frequency response.
EPIC Cable
Constructed of bifurcated, high-flexibility, ultra-low resistance tinsel wire coupled with a special aramid fiber usually used for ballistic-rated body armor, Westone's EPIC (Earphone Precision Interface Cable) cabling is the cream of the crop in audio quality, comfort, and durability. The rugged, braided design resists tangles, while the included slider keeps your earphones in place during vigorous activity. EPIC's over-the-ear cable design also offers superior in-ear comfort and isolation from mechanical cable noise.

Midrange Clarity
These have a fairly flat EQ, which gives them the impression of lower bass and more mids. Using for vocal IEMs they are terrific. They are sensitive and very loud.

Excellent product and value
This is my first pair of IEMs; I can only compare them to my B&W P 5's.
I listen to classical, rock, blues and jazz from my iPhone, with no amplifier. The W1 has more clarity and is brighter than the P 5. The P 5 has more bass.
I bought the W1 because other reviews state that the sound is the same as the current W10 that sell for $110 more. The W1 is therefore an excellent value.
