Omega OL-rs-GM-10 remote start

It was really easy to install on my 2007 Tahoe . It uses your factory remotes or you can use the extended range kits if you want. You will need the OL-loader USB cable to complete the installation. Pretty much plug and play. There is one wire you will have to connect if you want the parking lights to flash to show you that your car is running. The unit doesn't have any firmware installed so it will not work without the use of the OL-Loader USB cable. First you sign up on omega links website as a freelance installer , install the USB driver and connect the unit to your computer, select what type of car you have and it will install the firmware for the unit. Then install it in your car, after you turn the car ignition to the on position and the green light starts to flash, turn the ignition off , disconnect it and connect it to your computer again to save the key data on the unit then reinstall it back in your car. It took me about 15 minutes to install the unit. It will allow you to program it to remote start by pressing lock 3 times or lock, unlock, lock . I chose the later to prevent accidental remote start. I highly recommend it

I am very pleased. Easy installation after watching a couple of install videos. Did not need the OL Loader since Sonicelectronix flashed it for me before shipping after I provided them the information on my vehicle (2007 Chevy Silverado with 4.8L engine). So no hooking up to computer necessary--just install on vehicle, change optional defaults if desired (only change I made was for engine to run for 35 minutes before automatic shutoff and instructions provided are very clear on how to do this). I'm OK for now with the range of the factory remotes (about 100 feet with clear line of sight) but may order extended remote later. Bottom line is that this was an excellent purchase experience.

I'd say get it and install.

Install was pretty straight forward. I had a Saturn so I had to chop one of the plugs off and solder the 2 wires. It was a little tough to figure out what wires to solder to, because my wires had changed colors over the years or the wiring diagram was wrong. The parking light wire said attach to the light blue wire and I had 2 light blue wires coming out of my switch. I hooked it to the first, but that didn't work yet hooking it to the second made it work! The hood pin was quite a pain and I think I might just not recommend it for others planning to do this. Overall, it is nice and I plan to pair it to an RF kit probably next fall. My range isn't that great right now, so I have to be within about 50 ft. to get it to work. Still much better than going to the car with the key firing it up and leaving the keys in there for someone to steal something from my car or my entire car for that matter. Recommend you get an RF kit with this!

Remote starter

It was an easy install. Great item! It took longer to install the hood pin than the entire wiring harness and control unit.
