I recently installed these in a corolla (i'm a car audio installer) and was a little bit disappointed.... MB stand up for there reputation of delivering crystal clear highs but ended up with huge peak in the 10-15 khz! Titanium tweeters are in cause here... mids were good and you obviously forget about kickin' midbass.
Strongly recommend to mount the tweeters off-axis (ideally pointed toward center of windshield) to avoid blowing up your ears with these aggressive highs (and create good imaging at the same time...) I also recommend to install with a good EQ! With something like 7 or more bands, you could probably level the frequencies up and end up with the MB Quart clarity you're probably seeking if you're considering this set of component.
Good speakers for a budget minded buyer and defensibly require a subwoofer and good EQing to complete 'em!

This component set from MB Quart is an absoulute deal, if you are strapped for cash, then this is a deal, in no way are you getting low quality stuff. i have 2 sets in my integra and i loved them so much that i decided to do up my other car all the way around so that no matter what car i drove i could hear my music the way it was supposed to be heard, i deffinetly would reccommend, but they perform best if amplified. Thank you sonic, what a great product and even better price.

I'm running off of HU power and they are okay i guess, highs are unreal, bit crackly at times (86db sensitivity, really?), mids definitely need turned up while highs need turned down. Don't expect any bass out of this though, I have my bass at -2 so they don't distort, with sub for bass. For bass a sub is defiantly needed. Overall HU power isn't enough so a small amp is recommended, but nice set of speakers for the price. With amp, I recommend them. Sonic is great!

Well, I just installed them last night.. I gotta say for the money they sound much better then I thought they would.. Just to give a little background: In my past life I was a pro car audio installer for about 20 years (1979-2000) I've done a lot of high end cars as well and a lot of high end audio.. I was very reluctant to buy they set at the price of $53 shipped. heck! I paid more for the Cap on my sub... Now don't get me wrong.. if you're looking for big time SQ this setup is not what you're looking for.. but if you want something better then stock the 216's will fit the bill with HU power and a small sub woofer. One note: you will need to cut the door just a bit.. it's not that bad. I did it with tin snips.in a 93 Miata

Dont expect much bass from these, but dang are they screaming they are a perfect balance w/ a sub. They have snappy highs. They really come alive when you power them w/ an amp. I'm using a soundstream dtr500.4 its great combination.
