best subs for sound quality if your #1 concern is SQ and you actually want to hear the mids and highs blend together seamlessly then this is the sub for you . if you want super high spl's and to blow the doors off your car then get a square kicker but I want my music to sound good in my car not to be heard 5 blocks away.

I have one of these in a custom ported enclosure tuned to 24hz for my GMC 2500 Crew Cab, and it hits deeper than any 10 I have heard! Even ported, it stays tight and accurate, and goes as loud as I need it to. I haven't metered it yet, but I am guessing that I can achieve well over 100db at nearly any audible frequency, which obviously isn't competition level, but is impressive for a single 10! I am running it off of a Hitron amp from here with a claimed 600 watt rms, and they seem well mated. I would highly recommend this sub for the price, or even triple the price.

Very responsive and clean bass. Handled 500 rms no problem. Works great in a ported box to spec. Not to mention it looks great.

Blew this sub with a 500 watt Kenwood amp, as you know Kenwood amps don't give a true rating as the box says, so this sub definitely is weak.
However the sub sounded pretty good for the time I had it, just don't push it hard and it won't blow.. I was EQing the sub so it was getting real low and hitting high, and it did a great job but my amp couldn't keep up.
Now I have a 800W Infinity Kappa one amp and the sub was already rattling from before and it finally gave up and started to burn the Voice coils

I have one of these in a small sealed box 0.65 and running it with a Kicker zx 500.1 ran off an eclipse cd7200 mkII and it is the cleanest and best sound I have ever got out of any subs I have owned or heard that my friends have had not the loudest but if you truly enjoy a wide selection of different types of music you want it all to sound great. If all you listen to is rap and electronic then you may want to build a system that tailored to that type of music.I myself listen to everything from classical to rap to metal to electronic and this sub has great SQ for all.
