Do not attempt to install a radio without a harness adapter. With this type of adapter you can do all of your wiring on the bench (or the couch) and then just plug it into the car's original harness. Safe, easy and fast. The 70-1771 works in Ford Crown Vics that are PIs, which do not use the 24 pin harness used by standard Vics. Sonic offers the best service, variety, shipping and price of these wiring harness adapters. The use of this harness will allow you to reinstall the original radio at a later date or if you need to reinstall if the new radio goes in for repairs. Even if you never need or want to put the old radio back in, this is the only way to keep your sanity when installing an aftermarket radio- and it's only $10 and free shipping!
