I have the 12inch volfenhag 1200watt hooked up to a 1000watt amp and its hooked at 2 ohms and it hasnt blown yet or even showed a sign of it. I also recently purchased the 10" version and have that also hooked up to the same amp on the second channel at 2 ohms. These subs are better than alot of subs out there. I know for sure they are way better than a kicker cvr 10 or 12. I can prove it. The magnet size is way bigger than alot of 10s or 12s. Come listen to my system and everyone will think twice about any other subs around the price of a volfenhag.

READ THIS!! ... this is a real review from a real person that has owned a couple pairs of these subs before. These subs are good budget subs and they can hit pretty well but they are not 1000 watt subs, if you hook 1000 watts to them they will blow and will blow fast, you will burnt the voice coil putting too much watts to them and you will smell them right before they start to give out. If you start to smell them burn turn them off for awhile and you can play them again in another hour. I don't know the real wattage for them they can handle but test what they can handle slowly and don't put too much to them at once.

I was lookin into buying subs for my civic after i blew out a friends alpines with my 2000se boss amp. I have em wired at 2 in a series(yes i did my own installation, its better to know what is going on with equipment such as amps and subs) and after i let a tone cd break them in and played with my volume low, the subs were ready for some serious pounding. Great buy for the price. I would recommend these.
Great buy

I just wanna say this thing pound wicked even at low volume. I just got two of these a week ago. They are hooked up in parallel/series to a 2400watt pyramid pb-1836gx in a sealed box and i was pleasantly surprised at the resulting boom i know they are not the best out there but you can not beat the db's that come out of these beautiful looking subs if hooked up correctly. I will be reporting back on their progress as i continue to enjoy the rumble in my stomach from 2000 watts of a german concept.
