I kind of went out on a limb ordering these (came in a combo package with CTX-6.5 the ID12 D4 and the RE Audio XTX-500.5) I had never heard of Image Dynamics until I had shopped around for a new system for my 04 Trailblazer. I am by no means an audiophile, but I know what sounds good. You can definitely push things things without worrying.
I was extremely pleased with this component set. The clarity of this set is spectacular. The tweeters can be kind of harsh, especially if you leave the crossover at it's default level. I took care of most of it through my head unit(the crossover case is really hard to open once mounted).
The woofers are also great. They have a pretty tight punch to them, even at fairly low listening levels (of course it depends on what you're listening to). I still have some tweaking to do on my stereo to get it just right, but overall the frequency response is impressive. I don't know how good the real low end of these are, because I rely more on my sub to take care of that. What I do know is my system is one of the best I've personally heard in a car thank in part to these. They are loud, bright and clear.

Overall great speakers!! Very nice and clean SQL !! Mid bass is nice and tight, but not to much of thump.
The tweeters are "bright" but can be turned down. Clarity is not an issue with these speakers..
Great CS for the price as well !!

These thinks absolutely kick. Hard unbelievable value for the money. Used to own Infiniti kappas and these thing blow them completely out of the water. Voice seperation is great with these. Even better is they can be driven by crappy stock head unit power. I wouldn't recommend that, but I have done that and they still sound great

These are really great comps. My only gripe with them is they don't have as much midbass as I'd like. I'm not expecting these to sound like a subwoofer, but bass guitar and kick drum just seem to be severely lacking. They blend in great with a subwoofer though. Imaging is wonderful. The tweeters are a bit bright. I have them on -3 setting, my input may be biased due to the fact that it's been a while since I've had tweets in my car, but over time, my ears adapted and the tweeters became softer. Overall, they are really great comps. Plenty of volume, and they sound really clean too!

I bought this product from sonic electronix about 6 months ago and put them in the factory locations of my Honda Fit. I use an Eclipse CD5030 to control them and have them powered with 2 channels of a older RF amp. I went to these from a pair of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's and the difference is night and day. The midbass is ok, but not as great as I expected even with in and out sealed doors, but I got them for the tweets and those sound great to my ears. They seem to take power very well and I haven't been able to crank them up to hear distortion without first reaching my own limit.
My only complaint is the size of the basket is waaay bigger than I planned on. I like how beefy it feels (almost like a small sub) but it absolutely would not fit in my doors without spacers. And by that I mean a lot of space-rs. Had to find that sweet spot that would give clearance through the opening without hitting the back of my door covers!
I would definitely recommend these to anybody looking for great sound at an affordable price.
Sonix price was amazing and they arrived in perfect condition.
