Distribution Block Specifications

Distribution Block Type
This specifies what the intended use of the distribution block is. Fused distribution blocks are intended to be used with the power wire and the fuse acts as a short-circuit or surge protection so your amplifier is not as likely to be damaged. Non-fused distribution blocks can used with ground or power wire connections, but the protection on power wire connections will not be present as there is no fuse in the distribution block. Therefore, we recommend your amplifier has an external fuse for short-circuit or surge protection. When using either type of distribution block, it is recommended to use a main fuse holder within 18 inches of the battery.
Fused
Total Number of Inputs
This is the total number of input connections that go into the unit.
1
Maximum Input Gauge Size
This is the largest gauge wire that will fit into the power and ground terminals of this device. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the wire is. For example, a 4 gauge wire is thicker than an 8 gauge wire and thus has higher current carrying capacity. Always do your best to get this size wire to reduce the risk of damage to your components.
1/0 AWG
Total Number of Outputs
This is the total number of output connections that the unit will produce.
2
Maximum Output Gauge Size
This number refers to the maximum size of wire that will fit into the output connector(s) of the capacitor, battery terminal, or any other connector with an wire output.

Another great NVX product

October 19, 2014

I bought this distribution block when I bought the rest of my set-up from Sonic. The construction is very well and is definitely not cheap feeling. The one I received had a broken tab on the top, and without hesitation they sent me a brand new one free of charge. Nvx makes excellent products and the xfdbu2 is a superb accessory.

The product is exactly what I needed. I have a 1/0 power source and my amp needs a 4 gauge power cable. This allows me to add another amp on the future when I'm ready. Love it!!!!

can i run a 4 gauge power wire and an 8 gauge power wire out of this at the same time or is it just one or the other with the nvx xfdbu2 ?
brett r on Jan 2, 2015
Best Answer: If you mean 4 gauge to the input and two 8 gauge outputs, yes, you can. Keep this in mind though, if you're using one input and to outputs, always make the outputs one gauge smaller than the input so that the current will split evenly ( if both output cables are the same length). I suggest you make the minimum output gauge a 4 AWG and the input a 0 AWG for better performance.

Ok so i have a 200 amp circuit breaker right after my battery, and i need a 200amp going to sub amp and 60amp to the other, can i leave the breaker before the dis. block?
Michael B on Jan 30, 2015
Best Answer: You can either use a circuit breaker or the amp fuse .

I just use the amp fuse from my battery to my amps

Is it better to have this closer to the battery or closer to the amplifiers?
Kyle K on Jan 16, 2015
Best Answer: Hello Kyle,

This depends on the setup. If you do not already have a fuse within ~8" of the battery, then you'd want it there. However, if you do, then it doesn't really matter where the location is in conjunction with the location of the amp/battery. It will logistically be more practical if you kept it closer to the amps.
