Nice output for such a small footprint. Often when a reputable product receives some negative feedback its usually the fault of the end user & not the product. This is the case with a previous review here. The fact that his volume is half way & his woofers are blowing dust caps tells me that the gain is set incorrectly. In the chase for bass, he is using the gain as a volume control & has abused his speakers more than once. If he is not getting output then he should be looking at his enclosure & not set the gain so high as to send over a 1000 watts of a clipped signal = death for subs. Alpine has rated this amp @ 1000 watts of clean signal, unlike cheap & nasty brands quoting big numbers worth of dirty signals. 1000 Alpine watts = 3000 watts dirty cheap & nasty brand signal. It's a nice decent amp!

This compact amp is everything you could ask for and more. At first you would think by just looking at it that this is just a boring amp. However, this amp has a secret weapon, and that is it's amazing 1000 watt rms at 4 ohms capability. It does great at high temps for quite a while. I have only had it overheat on me three times and each time I knew I was pushing it too had for too long (2 hours on full). Have this beast hooked into a 1000 watt rms 4 ohm 2000 watt max Rockford fasgate 15" T2 in my 2006 scion TC and you can literally hear me comming from miles away. Best amp I have ever bought!

Very nice little amp. Amazing how much power you get from this little thing, but be aware, it gets SUPER hot.

First off, APPLAUSE to Alpine for such a fine product! Self polarizing quick connects, no ohms law (same power @ 2 and 4 ohms) which makes sub matching a breeze, and in a layout smaller than a sheet of printer paper!!! KUDOS!!! ( 1197@ 4 ohms! )
The only bad thing I have to say about this amp, which really isn't that bad for the the performance, is the price. Don't get me wrong, Sonic has outstanding prices. I noticed then when I was setting the gain controls on the amps and the V-power is definitely pushing more! Just compare the fuse ratings and the PDX is drawing 20 less amps!

when i got my amp i was truly amazed, as i held it up to my friends to show them how small it was, i thought to myself, wow this is truly small. that same day i immediately hooked it up. It looked like it couldn't handle the power that it said it could because it was so small. but the birthsheet that cam with the amp stated 1187 watts at 4 ohms. needless to say, after a good tuning, i was def. My 2 alpine type 10" R's were the perfect match, with a q logic ported box, i hit 141 decibels at 48 hertz with the passenger window down. The only complaint that i thought i would have with this amp is it had no bass booster, but... its not worth having one now that i look at it. I am now in competitions and i have won 2cd and 1st place in all of my comps. and i owe it all to my extreme amp! it was easy to set up! and a breeze to tune! Now, im saving up to get 2 more 10" R's and 1 more pdx 1.1000 amps. which i will be buying from here. sonicelectronix, thank you for the amp! and the super low prices!
