The XDV-P6 is a 6-disc multimedia player unlike any other. The XDV-P6 is equipped to play standard audio discs, CD-R/RWs, and it can handle DVD Video and Video CDs. It can also play MP3, WMA/WAV files. The size is great too as it can mount under your Pioneer A/V unit in the second DIN slot (for Double DIN applications) or it can be remotely such as under-dash applications. It makes a great combo with a Pioneer Audio/Video Receiver like the AVH-P7800DVD or AVH-P6000DVD or a Pioneer Navigation System like the AVIC-N5 or AVIC-Z3, and you can select and play either audio or video discs.
The XDV-P6 includes a digital optical output that provides Dolby®Digital and DTS™ multi-channel surround sound when connected with the Pioneer DEQ-P8000 Multi-channel Processor and AXM-P8000 Controller. This combination allows you to create 5.1 channel surround with virtually any system!

I have this changer, and I love it, but there are a few things I don't like!! It can be used as a hide away/ stand alone unit, but there is no IR repeater!! If you have a double din opening this is great for you. You can put this in one din and a flip out in the other!! But if you have a double din after market radio, you will need a ir repeater if you want to hide it!! (if your unit is not compatible) Also, I don't like that it will not work with the AVIC-F Series unless in stand alone mode!! With no onscreen control!!

I own this dvd unit. I placed it in the trunk of my infiniti j30 and is very pleased with it. it looks great,sleek and is controlled by either the main head unit if compatible or remote, either way you"ll love it. the only problem is the price you can find one cheaper like my first dvd player but it's not worth it cause u will change it out, so go with a good brand like pioneer and you wont be disappointed. im going to buy another one for my mazda 929 and enjoy it even more than i do now. another 6 star product if the price go down just a little more :)
