The chill finally crawls from off of your spine. For a moment there are no words that can describe the gut-wrenching bass tones you just heard. The next moment, you can’t stop thinking of new ways to let the world know of your experience. You’ve just been exposed to an MTX Audio T9500 superwoofer, and you won’t soon forget the experience. These subwoofers are an industry standard for those looking to make bass tones once thought unheard stand out right in your face and make their presence known.
Boasting a rating of 1000 watts of true RMS power handling, these subwoofers can really handle some power! A 260oz. magnet allows the T9500 subwoofers for a full 4” of peak-to-peak excursion! This means with the Thunder 9500 you get a full 1” of Xmax. A 4” voice coil allows for some mean bass reproduction and can really help reproduce the gut-wrenching deep low bass that a lot of SPL competitors are after.

GREAT SUBWOOFER BUTTTTTTTTT
For the price of this single subwoofer, you can get two of the orion HCCA subs, which have a higher rms, more excursion and an overall louder sound.

I have one of these subs along with a te1501d and in a sealed enclosure. This sub is well capable of doing some good handling, and if in a sealed rather than vented enclosure will hit the notes most claim they can't. If your looking for a sub that strokes at subsonic then this isn't for you, resonance hits at 31hz, and also is changed by the enclosure that restricts certain frequency along with the shape of the car that also eliminates certain resonances. Basically when it comes to math, the JL w7 is a louder sub by 1 dB which = 1/3 more power as 3 dB = 3* more power. Most will say "but mtx has a higher power handling rms" that doesn't really matter when it comes to dB sensitivity which in the end JL takes the cake..Im a hard earned mtx fan but I do my homework, JL is the better sub if all elements are properly setup, to the naive stereo installer a walmart bought pioneer installed by a pro is potential to out due a competition subwoofer installed by an amature.

I know how everyone thinks that this efficiency thing really matters. But when you spend this much on a sub. Who cares about what it'll do on a little cheap amp. I have 2 of these MTX 12's and the "rated power of 1000 watts" is bull. I have 4 1000 watt MTX amps on each coil on each woofer and have had that for 6 months so why don't we try hooking up 1500 to the JL and see what it can do besides pop. This sub is way heavier than a JL for a certain reason. So if all of you JL fans think your sub can outperform this sub power for power step up to the plate. The JL costs more maybe louder on a "little" amp but lets talk about real power and what the subs can really take. The XMAX's aren't even close. I've been up against the JL's in DB drag race and the guy had 1000 watts on each JL and there was a 3 db difference with the MTX's being louder. I'd compare the W7 more to the Rockford Fosgate T2.

I have two 9500's each in a 2.25 cubic pro box.each have a MTX TA81001 pushing them in 2 ohm configuration and these things pound so hard. They are rated at 1000watts but birth certificate says 1550watts. Don't know how many dbs it hitting but well over 130 i'd say. They have a pretty price. But if u want a sub that can handle everything you can throw at it this is for you.Just take the challenge and you will find out for your self

I have one of these right now and just recently ordered a second one...They pound very good for a single 12 inch sub. I would recommend getting one if it is in your price range. I am powering mine with a mtx 81001 amp and can't wait to get my second one.(just one of these is louder than any 2 12's I have ever seen(at my school)) I did have one problem with it, I was playing some extremely low tones and the tensil lead ripped off of the former. But I sent it back to mtx and they replaced it.

I own 2 of these bad boys. I have them crammed in a 1994 Mazda MX-3. They are hooked up to a 4000watt HIFONICS BRUTUS amp, and they slam the piss out of the car, causin my back hatch flex like crazy. The sad part is the amp is turned down because i dont have enough battery power to pound the crap out of them. If you have the money buy them. I got lucky and bought them brand new for $250/pr, and they're are worth so much more. If you hardcore into to subs and SPL, then these subs are for you!! But becareful these thangs are HEAVY!!
