Good Clean Power

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Putting out over 1000 on 3x GTO1014D at 2.67 ohms.
Gain adjustment CD DOES NOT WORK if crossover is BEFORE amp. Only work if using full range signal to tune gain.
Seems efficient. Doesn't draw as hard as other amps in it's class.
I port low, so subsonic isn't necessary for me. Would be a good add feature though.
In cold weather, plays terrible until warm.
Soft shutdown and restart feature for over driving is nice too.

Great Amp

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

There is nothing negative to say about this amp. It's worth every penny and my JL W3's have never hit harder and cleaner than they do powered by this amp. Would suggest running it with a Kinetic 600 as a back up battery as this amp is very efficient and really does perform as rated, unlike other make believe amps out there.

Damaged my ears!

The following review is for SPG555-2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

This sub can be found for $350. I bought mine with the 1 f^3 factory sealed enclosure, then cut an oval out of the back (opposite the driver) and installed the passive radiator (free +3db with dummy cone) tuned to 30hz (with supplied weights). I am powering it with an MTX 81000-D, birth sheet says 1308 watts rms into my subs 2ohm load. I have read the SPG can take 1800 watts rms. I don't doubt this, as I am shopping for a bigger amp now. I have the gain set for 51 volts at my max volume, which shows no clipping on my oscilloscope and equals 1300 watts on my 2 ohm Boston. Have not melted the coil at max volume yet. Max temp of the plastic on the outer ring of the outside of the voice coil (its perimeter) I have measured with a laser no contact thermometer is 212 F. It did not fail at that temp. I did melt the coil once with the same amp, but gain was set too high on a road trip (6hrs of Tech 9 and Mike Jones) and it was clipping the signal. I did not have and oscilloscope or volt meter (51v rms ='s 1300w) to set the gain on the road. The replacement surround and voice coil just keeps getting louder, and runs cooler. It has been about 2 months of listening at full volume Bass Mekaniks and still the spider is getting looser and the sub getting louder, and now runs at about 98F after HARD hitting tracks. I also blew the surround out once when my girl opened my truck at full volume, thus unloading the driver and allowing over excursion (stretching the foam surround excessively). Evidence it is getting louder: volume 24 was max voltage for the amp and listenable. Now, volume 18 hurts my ears. My left ear is ringing and popping during the day, and my girl friend says both her ears are waxing more and damaged. Also, the whole car is shaking now, window, seats, dash, sodas in the console. Also, DVD navigation disc in the trunk just skipped and wouldn't operate for the first time the other day. This sub was made to conquer the 13W7 (and I read it did), Boston is way underrated, and audiophile grade. That is why I bought this, is does not distort a note, and shakes my whole car, all for 1 cubic foot! The only other sub that could come close for 1 cubic foot per sub would be Premier SPL sub. Recommended 1.5 f^3 per 12". So, 2 x 12= 3 Premier SPL. Also, equals 3 SPG + 3 passive radiators, total, 3 cubic ft. Although, the RE XXX does recommend max of 1.1 cubic ft sealed for their 12", and JBL MKII 12" recommends 1 cubic ft for sealed 12. Can somebody produce a louder sub in 1 cubic ft that Boston with the SPG 555 teamed with the passive radiator (which increases output by 3db but doesn't affect box volume)?

Get this sub

The following review is for SPG555-2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

This sub hits low and hard. If you don't have much room get this; it is a very high quality product.

great amp

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have had no issues with this amp. Hooked to my 12 inch sub it is the right amount of power for my alpine sub. It does not get hot or cut power at all.

Amazing sound quality.

The following review is for SPG555-2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

After learining about passive radiator setups, I sold my two 12" Type-R's and decided to replace them with this one sub, backed with its counterpart, the SPG-TR. I built the box to specs recommended in the owner's manual, and I couldn't be happier with it. I have yet to hear the 30 hz or the 45 hz setup, but the 35 hz setting has pleased me thus far. The low end really booms, while maintaing a smooth transfer into the higher notes. Its really amazing how low the little 1 cubic foot box can hit. If your looking for truly flat response, you might look elsewhere; it really spikes around the tuning frequency of the passive radiator. For anyone looking to save some space and still have a strong low end with great sound quality, it cant be beat. I got my trunk back and can tell little difference in volume level. Running it off a Rockford T1000BDCP which puts out around 1200 watts at 1.6 ohms (which this sub is). Very pleased with my decision.

Boston SPG555-2

The following review is for SPG555-2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

So i bought this from Sonic and the first sub I received looked like it had been used or an open box. I called Sonic and worked it out and they sent me out a new one. Seems to be much better condition (new). I have owned many many subs from JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate and so on. I had a Rockford T1 12 that sounded very good but i wanted just a little bit more boom. I read many reviews on this sub and decided to go with it. I got lucky and bought the Ported/Vented Subwoofer Enclosure from a buddy of mine for a very good price.

This sub really makes some good BASS. I have to say WOW
I am using a Rockford T1500-1bd amp with plenty of power. Musically the sub performs very well and when you want to make this sub hit it has no problem doing it. I am considering buying a second one from Sonic. If you are reading this i would say go for it.

wow is not enough

The following review is for SPG555-2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Ok so here is what I had, JL 10w7 and a 500/1v2 now I have a spg555-2 and a Rockford fosgate t15000-1bdcp. And it smokes the jl in every way. Sq and spl are not even close, the Boston wins hands down. I have my sub in the SQ box that Boston gives specs on in the owners manual. Its tight, fast and stupid deep bass. I can say I was on the fence when I sold my W7 and now I laugh. Half the price and twice the output. This sub is like 92db you don't need any power at all to run it. I love it will never give it up.

Great sub

The following review is for SPG555-2, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Just for your info this sub can handle anywhere from 100-1000rms...and it is light weight. I have it hooked up to the rear channel of a T8004, I'm giving around 600rms to it, in a sealed enclosure and i have to say i love the way it sounds. For simple use this sub will be more then enough if you have around 500-600rms. This sub only has pros in my book with only two cons, first it only has a single voice coil, 2 or a 4, but that is almost not a con for you can switch out the voice coils at any time with ease. Second you have to either make a sealed box yourself, i think this site has a ported, or convert a one cubic foot box into an oval shape.

On another note i have not tried to max this thing out to see how loud i can get it for that isn't what I'm using it for. I use this for quality sound and i am impressed with it, though if i were to put it in a ported i doubt i would be able to hear for long for its already loud as is. For those of you debating on getting a cheaper sub i would give the cash for this one any day for i was debating on going cheaper and I'm sure glad i didn't. This is one nice sounding sub.

Amp

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

This amp has been great. I now have two one in our boat and one in my truck. The boat is now one of the best sounding systems I've ever heared. Although in my truck when I push it to hard it shuts off. I've checked my gain several times and it's okay but it only does it if it gets pushed hard for a minute or two. Other than that it's an amazing amp and my brother just go one because he likes mine so much.

Impressive

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have been a Rockford Fosgate fan for a long time and have owned several of their amps in the past and I have been more than happy. Punch amps were desired this time but they don't come cheap and money was a deciding factor with this setup. I have only had this amp for a short time but I am very impressed with the power. This amp is strong!!!!!!! I knew it would do over rated after seeing the 500RMS version do over 700 watts while being tested by the great Steve Meade. JBL makes good quality products and you won't be disappointed. If you are strapped for cash and only need beteween 900 and a probable 1200 watts RMS with the proper electrical. "GET THIS AMP".

NIce Amp

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have it pushing two 12" American Bass XD subs. The amp does what I wanted. Only thing missing is the subsonic filter as mention by another person. I had issues at first The subs were weak and seemed under powered. . I Then messed with the head unit settings and it cured the problem. I bought it over a month or so ago and just got around to installing it last weekend. So basically after subwoofer break in , I cranked it up the last few days. No complaints so far.

Amazing!

The following review is for GTO-1001EZ, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have been a fan of Fosgate & Alpine amps for years because of there longevity, but when i bought a Fosgate R1000-1D and it was DOA, i had to make a choice on a different amp, ive never really been a fan of JBL but when i saw a video Steve Meade did on one i said sure why not!
This replaced the Fosgate R500-1 i had and il say this, the Fosgate used to get really hot pushing my single Alpine TypeR 12in DVC, this thing is not even heating up, but it beats my 12in sub something hard!
I did not purchase it from this site, but from a local dealer, but im one who is a strong believer in giving reviews wither they are bad or good on products and this one amazed and amazes me!

Great amp, pushes out more than it's rated, and easy to tune with the gain indicator led. I've got it running one NVX VCW 12 and it sounds amazing.
