Metra 70-1771 radio wiring harness adapter

Do not attempt to install a radio without a harness adapter. With this type of adapter you can do all of your wiring on the bench (or the couch) and then just plug it into the car's original harness. Safe, easy and fast. The 70-1771 works in Ford Crown Vics that are PIs, which do not use the 24 pin harness used by standard Vics. Sonic offers the best service, variety, shipping and price of these wiring harness adapters. The use of this harness will allow you to reinstall the original radio at a later date or if you need to reinstall if the new radio goes in for repairs. Was looking for a simple head unit with 3 outputs and this fit the bill (5v outputs at that). Buttons are simple and do not have multi-function, which I prefer. Cannot speak to the longevity of this product as I have just installed it, but I am very pleased with what I have seen so far! Sonic also offered a discounted price on a new dash mount kit and pigtail which I did not need because I’m replacing an aftermarket unit. I took advantage anyways and installed it with the new mounting accessories. This resulted in a much cleaner install over using my old materials.

Didn't come with the correct equipment

The wire harness I got didn't connect to the amp I had and the mounting kit I received also didn't fit. The stereo itself works nicely, I just had to make a few extra purchases myself.

Great unit

Great unit the only thing doesn't have remote eye for rc 406 remote you have to download remote app which can be dangerous while driving. I had to swap the 305 to the 705 which is the same unit 25 dollars more but now I can use my rc 406 remote with it. Remote doesn't come with the unit had to order it separate. 12 bucks online.

Fit perfectly easy installation my stereo works great will buy again

XXXellent foundation for a custom install

After being dissapointed by two different Schoche install kits ( locally ) I ordered the 5804 from Sonic. 3 days delivered by the way. Kudos Sonic, you guys rUUle. I used the kit to mount a Pyle PLD 40MU (which also rocks but it is sold out at Sonic). The Pyle has a Large face on a single din, so a mod to the mounting was required. The Metra 5804 has plenty of extra material to support the dremel excavation. Turned out Fab. Dremel on slow to medium with a cut-off, due to the melt and resolidification. Used a soap stone-bit on medium to clean up, smooth, and blend, etc.

Pros: Purrrfect fit in the 96 Ranger, Extra material molded in for custom hacking, Solid construction and poly material. Super fast service, Sonic rocks.

Cons: I am mechanically inclined, so there is no complaint (maybe when I have to remove for the Video in install, I will whine). 5 minute install, though. My eleven year old daughter could install this kit.

Kenwood Excelon is just right for my needs

Has 3) 5v pre outs, time alignment, 13 band eq etc etc.. all the features you can get in a single din unit! The only complaint is the last one I purchased couldn't withstand the abuse of 155+ DB in my truck. ???? But it lasted me 2 years.. it's a very good unit, not meant to take the abuse I give them lol
