Great!

These things have some power. No doubt the best I've heard. The neighbors get so mad, even people driving next to me. I have mine wired at 2 ohms hooked to a power acoustik 3000 watt amp. I'm sure the amp isn't pushing 3000 watts all the time, but the subs still get insane power, and have great power handling.

Installed in a 2004 Dodge Stratus, i have 2 hooked up to a SPL 4000 Watt Amp and placed in a Sonic Sub Box: 2SSV12 (Gray). My very first sound system and i am very satisfied. Guarantee it you wont be disappointed, believe me.

hits hard and is durable

I have two in a ported box running at 400watts each. Wired to 2 ohms. They slam. They don't have much distortion. I got them 6 months ago and held up great. I got an alpine 15 type-r and need to install it. All I have is Alpine in my car. Also 4 spr-60c component speakers from alpine. I'm running them at 50 watts each and they're great. I'm going to run them at 100 watts each soon since they're rated 110 rms. Anyway alpine is awesome and the way to go. With just those 2 swr 1223d's I've gotten pulled over for shaking a cop's windows while I was at a red light and he was over in a parkinglot about a block away.

I have two of these running on a hifonics brutus 1700 rms at 2 ohms it hits pretty hard. hitting 141 db there alright for now.

I have 2 of these hooked up to a Rockford 1000W class D amp in a dual slot ported box. this thing hits hard. Sounds alot better than my old L7s in terms of SQ. Lows are clear and makes everything around me shake. I would deff. recommend to anyone wanting an amazing set of subs for a great price!! Shipping took only 6 days. Insanely loud

These subs hit extremely hard!!! I have a hifonics 1000wD.1 amp and these mithas hit so hard you can feel the air coming out of the trunk with the seat dowm plus my ears hurt!!!

Alpine type r

I had 2 Kicker CVR 12 that hit hard and I decided to buy a pair of 12 inch Alpine Type R and ran them to the same amp a Rockford Fosgate Prime 500 and me and all my friends could tell the diffrence right off the bat a more cleaner deeper bass. I recommended them to all of my friends.

Good Amp

I've had this Kicker amp powering 2 MTX thunder squares for a couple months now, and this amp is the real thing. No matter how long i have my radio blasting this amp has never gone into protection mode or overheated, I would definitely recommend this amp.

The things rock

They kick ass. Plain and simple. They're not too pushy, they're there when you need 'em, and they continue to blow my mind when I least expect it. If you're considering doing it, do it, you'll be glad you did.

Awesome subs

After about 6 months of deciding... i buckled and got the Alpine Type R. Always heard good things about them and decided to get a set. FIrst off these things are monsters. They already sound better then my P2's and hit harder and deeper. Very pleased with my purchase and can't wait to hear them when they are broken in.

i have to of these hooked up to 2 hifonics 1800 gladiator amp n boy these mofos bang was playing rack city in my driveway n the police speeded through my block and he thought it was a gun shot but then he came back down and found out it was me. he said sir please dont raise my adreniline like that anymore lol but for a 2004 impala ss they bang

I absolutely love these subs! I have 2 of these bad boys kickin in a custom ported box, run from a SSL 2400 watt amp in my pontiac g5, and these things bump to anything! I would recommend these subs to anyone experienced or not!

I have one Type R in my 1997 Cadillac Deville in a slot box hooked to a 800 watt Power Acoustic CPT2-1500 amp. With the amp bridged and running at 2ohm's it hits extremely hard and the sound quality is awesome. However it dosen't take long for the amp heats up and shuts down. I plan to upgrade to a better amp and it should be fine. This one sub hits harder than the two 15" Audiobahn's in my Bronco.

MONSTER!

I have had 1 in my truck for 2 weeks now, after my Kicker Comp VR finally blew. No dig on Kicker, cause that bad boy lasted me a hellish 8 years. This sub just gets better and better! I'm slowly moving the settings up, just out of my own choice, but man, WOW. I cannot wait to really pound on this thing! I have it in a Supercab F150, in a 1.27 cu.in. ported box. It's really impressive what 1 sub can sound like!

Alpine type R vs Kicker L7

I bet a lot of you wonder which system would hit harder.. i had 2 kicker L7's 12" a couple monthes back, they hit im not gonna lie. but when i got 2 type r's recently, i am absolutely amazed of how hard they hit. im not over exagerrating but when i drive my vision gets blury, my throat starts to choke in a way, and ribcage rattles. So in my opinion type R would be my first choice no matter what. If you get a huge box and a powerful amp for these than i guarantee it can out do most 12 " subwoofers.

Great Sub!

Great sounding Sub, alpine doesn't disappoint!! I have been buying their products for years and I am always satisfied. Sure, there are other brands that probably are higher end than Alpine but this sub gets a A+ from me!

Great sub

This subwoofer definetly gets the job done. It sounds great and has a solid punch. I have one of these in a smaller sealed box, I think its 1 cubic feet, but one should get a larger box in it. Only problem is that it does tend to rattle when it gets to high volumes, but only when a song has booming bass so it doesn't happen that often, could be the box. I added this in my 08 jeep cherokee and its a good combo with my recently added speakers. Here's what I got; sub amp- kenwood kac-7204 (bridge the two channels) head unit- kenwood excelon, front seat- boston acoustics pro60SE, back seat-boston acoustics sc65. Sub sounds great with the replaced speakers, but a four channel amp is still on my list. Overall the 1223d wont dissapoint you, and it was a nice upgrade from my 2 jl audios 120v2-4. With just one type-r it sounds better and louder. However, there are still better subs out there.

Awesome sub for limited space!

The redesign has been great for this sub... making the mounting depth less has not reduced the quality of sound you get out of it!

It sounds great and pounds good under the backseat of my silverado... which is a hard place to fit any 12" sub, let alone 2 that sound as good as this Alpine

Its Kicker enough said!!!

Wow!! Thats all i can say. I had the 750.1 and I thought it was punishing but now i compare that to 6x9's lol. You dont know what bass really feels like till you consider having to use ear plugs when the volume is at 19!! I did the big three upgrade and extra battery with a pair of kicker solo classics all from sonic and i spent maybe $600 total can't beat it. To me Kicker products are top of the line and this amp can take it and does not get hot. If your considering this amp its a purchase well worth investing in. Just remember that amps or like subs if u under power them you wont be happy with them and they wont be happy with you. If you take the time and finances to spend on a good quality amp take time to make sure you send it the power it really need to give you the umph your really lookin for!! LIVIN LOUD!!!

Best Amp I Have Ever Had

This amp pushes both my solo barics 15's, really loud and clean too, My ear are always ringing for a while when i come home from school.

I am very pleased with the Alpine Type-R, the quality of the speaker is not hard to recognize and its sounds is amazing. I would like to get a second Type-R along with the M2000 in the future.

POUNDS

Great sub, have it hooked up to a PDX-M6 (600watts) and this thing pounds hard. It's great in the ported box that I made for it, definitely go for a larger sized PORTED box. I just got my second one yesterday with a brz2100.1D (2ohms@1400) cant wait to install.

I have blown 6 of these subs my pioneer champion series can handle more watts and are just as loud alpine just screwed up all of this years product my last years model 1000 watt alpine amp is way more powerful then this years.

I put two of these a** pounders in about a month ago, and they bout to make me go deaf. They sound absolutely clear and can handle more beating than your best girlfriend. I recommend a ported box. I also have the Alpine MRP-1000 and a Quantum 2.0 farad cap. I hardly turn it up before I'm shakin the intersection or waking up the neighbors. I highly suggest Alpine in your next purchase if u want to upgrade ur scrub system.

i have this on a Planet Audio bb215 running at 2 ohms and all i can say is "scary" lmfao... its rated at 1500 but my birthsheet says 1720... [smfh] i love LOUD but this s*** is TOO LOUD... i got the gain "ONLY" on a 1/4 of the way up and the s*** is just scary.. lol seriously.. but its good for the money and for damn sure gets the job done plus more

great subs

I have two older Alpine SWRs. My older version are 600 watts RMS as opposed to the new Alpine SWR which is 1000 RMS. If you are on a budget to get good quality bass, these subs are a great buy. ive had these subs for over a year in parallel with a 1000 watt Rockford Fosgate D1000 amp. Im running my subs a little low but I have a lower chance of blowing them. I am a little bummed because I wish i had the newer alpine SWR's becuase of the higher wattage handling. Overall, very pleased! These subs preform phenominally in a ported box with about 1.3 cubic ft/ sub.

Amazing quality out of this American Built puppy

Have one of these hooked up in my Jetta TDI. Wasn't looking for car shaking bass for this car, so the setup i got was perfect. This sub in a sealed box at 4 ohms and a hifonics brutus 1200 amp is a great combo to generate a sound that is deep and super clear and rattling in the 2006 Jetta which is what i was looking for, hitting perfect on all the songs that i blast when i am seeking a thumping bass. This sub i can tell is built with extreme quality and built to last a really long time. Highly recommended and great service from Sonic at a good price.

Awesome sub!!

I purchased this sub after my JL audio fried six months ago. I like to listen to loud music on long drives and this sub can handle the abuse. Awesome frequency range compared to most I looked at in my price range. Hits hard and provides a powerful nicely toned bass for all types of music, from country to rap. I would recommend this product to others and I tell all my friends exactly what kind of sub they have when they ask after their ears have been pounded.

I installed it in a Sonic 1SV12 ported box from this site, powered by a Hifonics BXi1206d at 1 ohm. It absolutely slams and takes the power like a champ. The new design looks great, sounds just as good as the older Type R, and handles more power. I couldn't ask for anything more.

kicker amp

I have this amp hooked up to two 2008 kicker solobaric L7 12s and it pounds harder than anything ive ever heard and it never kicks off. for the watts kicker is true power and the money this is the best amp u could buy. i recommend this amp if you go with kicker. Kicker is the best.

Best subs ever

I had bought these subs a few years back. I'm running them on the strong kenwood class d. they are in ported boxes, 2 12" in my civic. Everything would shack my back glass broke and my subs still look new. Just put the type-r in sealed boxes, even hits harder and could here it from blocks away. Also theres no radeling in the truck.

type r

i just bought mine on thursday and got it yesterday on monday wow it got here fast. i had a jl audio w6 for a while and it blew and before i got the w6 i was looking at the type-r and was interested in it but got the w6 for cheap on craigslist. I'm running a rockford fosgate prime 500 to it the same one i ran to the w6 and as far as loudness and thump the type-r has so far been deffinetly louder then the w6 was even though im still on the break in period, so many new rattles came up once i put it in my durango and i havent even had it on past 20 on the volume yet. but for sound quality the w6 seems to be far better. It hit so many more notes then the type-r seems to be able to hit and the transition between the bass notes was a lot crisper, the type-r seems to struggle transitioning between notes. type-r: louder then w6; w6: way better sound quality.

2 12" type r's

I use to have 2 12' type r's (these ones) got them at best buy when they first came out and i put them in a pretty big ported box tuned to around 33 hertz and man these things got LOUD! But keep note, the old type r's had 2 spiders and these have just 1..yet these are 100 rms more? Doesnt make sense to me but they sound great! Very good subs.

kicker zx1500.1

Great amp, I used this to power my single Kicker Solo-Baric L7 wired at 2-ohms. Earthshaking power! Lives up to its rated RMS power. It does not overheat at all even in an enclosed space with no airflow. Pretty amazing!

Nice Product

I just installed one of these bad boys in my 09 Saturn Vue in a 0.7 cu. ft sealed box. Got a Hitron 1000w 2-Channel amp. I'm running it bridged at 4ohms. It sounds good and pounds. Still needs break in time. I highly recommend this product.

i had the other type r 12" but then it blew due to too much watts. Seems so much louder than the other type r. Then i got this and it hits hard and the lows sounds perfect in my 1.8 cubic box i got off this site very good get it

Pretty Decent Subs I gotta Admit

Pretty cool Subwoofers!!! I gotta admit when I first heard these in the car I was hype. I put them in my wifes car. They hit pretty hard i must admit!! However, I noticed that this sub struggles between notes in hitting the beat on time. The subwoofers in my other vehicle hit wayyyyy crisper than these speakers. -1 on Quality for that one. Powerful Subs though.

Love my alpine Type-R I have two Type-R 12" in a down fire box in my 2007 Chevy extended cab Z71 had a set of these sub long time ago and the 2nd set r just how I remembered them no problems ppl ask what I got all the time "man that's clean what are those" Type-R son! Lol love them.

SINGLE Alpine Type R 12" in pvc ported box

Decided to get an alpine type-r 12" in a custom pvc ported box running off of a 2000 watt (800 fuse rated) stax amp and it bangs. Since i drive a hatchback, it rattles my whole car. Windows at my friends houses shake when i pull up and cars beside me shake too, off of a single 12. If put in a good box this sub BANGS!

Review ZX1500.1

This amp is absolutely flawless. Puts out more than rated power and hits low notes very well. I have two type r's hooked up to this amp and they sound great.

Da Kicker 08 1500.1 watts RMS was a great buy for me I recommend dis amplifier if u power is wat u want I was running 2 12s Kicker CVXs at 4 ohms and it sounded better than 15s and its on 750 watts RMS at 4 Ohms and 1500 watts at 2 ohms this is a great value I will be getting another one I'm goin wit one of dem on each my l7 15s I only got one plugged up on one speaker and its already tearing up da trunk!

Dislike

I bought two 12" Solo Barics to go with the zx1500.1 but after bumping it continuously it just gave up. I sent it back to kicker to learn it had some drivers burnt out and cost me about $90 parts n labor. I'm still bumping it but since I got it under the seat it might be overheating or maybe kicker amps just suck. Solo baric woofers are champs though!

Best Amp Ever!

It is by far the best amp i've ever owned. Extremely clean! Extremely powerful & efficient!
Solidly built, you can tell by how much it weighs. Am falling in love with Kicker all over again. Highly recommend this amp. Birth Sheet with this says 1753watts! So u get more that you pay for.

True 1/0 gauge!

Swapped out my old 4 ga db link amp kit with these tsunami wires and noticed an improvement instantly! These wires are monsters and still extremely flexible. Their a bit hard to solder since the jacket melts. But for the price this is the only wire I know of thats 100% ofc and not copper clad alluminum. Its the real deal and for the price its a steal.

My amp is pushing my Beyma and Kicker speakers with ease. I plan to take pictures of my system that is in my Lincoln navigator. Its better to show that to tell. Seeing is believing. Kicker amps does just that. Kicks butt

Really powerful amplifier

This thing chewed up my 12" L7 in a matter of days! (oops). Anyways, it always stayed cold and I have it configured to audio detection which is a little iffy but it's a great way to stay out of the fuse box if you have a stock HU (like myself). Looks great too, the light on the badge is primo. 0 gauge wire has a tough time fitting into the connectors, just fyi. I could buy two L7's with the kind of money I put up for this thing, although it will beyond all doubt outlast them all.

I have the Kicker 08zx1500.1 hooked up to 2 Kicker 12" L7 and it bangs so hard. I love Kicker products and I would recommend this amp to anyone that wants a great system for a good price. Also Sonic Electronix has some pretty good deals on car electronics! I wish I would have found them sooner.

I have this amp puching two 12s l7 this thing beats like crazy rattles my entire car everybody hears me coming from blocks aways. I'm in the prosses of taking to kicker do to it burned but its a good amp.

This is probably one of the most reasonably priced 0 gauge ofc kits on the market. Supplies plenty of juice to my mtx 1500w rms amp. Best deal I found and is superb quality. Been using it for 6 months and couldn't be happier.

Very satisfied with product. When it comes to quality a quality amp kit with a quality car system, you want the best for. The best sound quality. Even after a year I find that tsunami is my favorite. no problems. AT ALL! Sonic Electronix was very professional and prompt with the delivery. I would Definately recommend them to all my friends. I purchased this amp in September 2009 to push my two Kicker 12" CVX's, and it still pounds to this day! I've had no problems at all, no overheating, or cutting out. As long as your installation is correct, you should have no problems what so ever. I'm extremely satisfied with this amp.

Great kit for the price. True 0ga wire. Could use a longer ground wire and I had to upgrade to a 300a fuse. Wire is sturdy but very pliable and looks great!

For a sealed box, this box is a good purchase. While the banana clips in the back do often unscrew loose while trying to attach the speaker wires (not completely off, but loose enough to be a pain) the box provides plenty of room and makes my bass rock the whole neighborhood!

Good value

Bought this because of the price. Worked out well. Tsunami gives you enough wire to run it all except for the ground cable is a little short. Coupled this with the big three upgrade kit, HO alternator and a yellowtop battery. No dimming lights and no dropping of deep notes. I would also recommend upgrading the fuse. Its only 250 amp.

Good Box

This is a pretty solid box. It gets the job done. after 6 months of use, some of the carpet is starting to wear away, but they box is still solid and beating hard. The wiring clips come loose constantly however. I epoxy glued them in place to fix the problem. Only complaint.

I have my 2 12'' 1500watt Boss Chaos extreme ssubs in the is and the box is hold up to expectations.

Nice Install kit

The power wire is blue and has a nice connector on one end and the ground is like a clear with a connector on one end also. I really like the fuse block. On my last system I had one of the glass fuse setup's and had the solder that holds the metal bar on the inside of the fuse melts before the fuse actually blows. It took me a while to figure out the fuse went bad cause it didn't look blown. Overall if you have big amp and need some 1/0 gauge wire this is the kit to get.

Great Amp Kit

This amp kit is a FANTASTIC bang for your buck. Wire isnt cheap, and it flexes very easily. Top notch all around. Biggest let down is that it does NOT include RCA's.

expecting better

I bought this box with some kicker 12's and the box was not that great. I mean, its a box, how can u screw up? Well u can apparently. First the glue makes my car smell horrible. The points where the screws go in weren't catching the wood when installing. And the seal off point between the 2 enclosures are vibrating so loud that I have to jam soccer balls and pillows against the top of my trunk to push the box down. Oh and I just installed it 2 weeks ago.

Box is OK quality. Could be sealed better. Did not come with polyfill as shown in photos. No logo either. I would of returned it if it was not such a huge item.

Great Kit!

Wire is true to guage, all components are sturdy and look great. It's been 6 months and I've had no problems at all. Sonic's shipping is always fast, packages are always very well packed to prevent damage and the order is always accurate. This is a fantastic company with fantastic products and prices!
