To the guy that says this is not one Ohm stable. First off nothing is short-circuited, 1 ohm has a very low resistance yes, but amps burn up because improper input voltage. I have benched this amp with clamps, volt meter, and a oscilloscope, at 1 ohm right before clipping was 1,891 watts. This is a sub 2K watt amplifier, for 170 bucks that's not bad.
You will NOT get the labeled 5500 MAX! That's a marketing gimmick.
This amp is stable at 1 ohm. Do not use BassBoost as it's a db gain @ 45 ish hertz. Adjust the gain properly, its not a volume nob.. its there to match your head unit's output voltage most head units have there output voltage labeled in the manual.
If you set this amp up right it does the job just expect a sub 2K watt amp. I have mine hooked up to a 18″ PSI Platform 2 @1 ohm.

1 ohm stable
They say 1 ohm. NOT STABLE, idiots. I really don't know how can you manage burning amps. I think you are a bit parallel with car audio technique. Don't over range the gain (it isn't a VOLUME, it's a compensator). Bass boost is in about an 18dB range. Again, for compensation. In case you need to keep bass much lower in your head unit without HPF, so long and so forth. If you want 1 ohm (stupidity) buy competition amps. At 1 ohm, you may consider your final amplifier module short-circuited, but it still has to work a bit harder even for BRANDS (eg kicker, cerwin-vega, GZ, etc.).

Great Subs!!
I bought a couple of these for my son. There is a review of these subs that say that he blew them with 300 watts. For those of you who don't know, most subwoofers that are blown are from UNDER POWERED amplifiers NOT over-powered amplifiers.
To those of you who didn't know that do some research about what happens when an amp does not have ample power. Recommended power is usually for 1-1/2 to 2 times the rated rms power of the subs.
It's referred to as "headroom".

Awesome Product
...I love boss products. I have never had any problems with it. This amp is just way awesome you don't have too spend top dollar amounts to have a good system. If you know what you are doing and hook it up right you will never have a problem. Boss products are just by far the best and I will continue to buy them and always recommend them. I look forward to buying more in the future great amp a must buy...

Boss speakers
I would recommend the Boss CX124DVC speakers. I bought them and installed the set in a 72 Javelin. The sound is great, they were easy to install and wire up to my system. The price was very reasonable.

Great subs
i have two of these at 1 ohm at about 1400 - 1600 watts rms and they take it all day. its a sealed box and my car has a trunk not open like an suv or hatchback. and i can feel my neck vibrating. every mirror in my car shakes pretty hard. for the price you cant go wrong. the sound is very clean and has a good range of frequency response. these are no mtx 9500's but they over met my expectations. i have no cons about these subs.

Not bad for the price
These subs are good for somebody looking for a little bit of bump for a small budget. They give good bass to accent you music, but if you're looking for subs that hit hard enough to rattle your teeth, then keep looking.

Broke under a month!!!
i would recommend this amp because of the power. Pushed my two 12 inch alpines type x well, but the amp broke under a month of useage. Thank God i have warranty =D otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it.

Boss NXD5500
This amplifier is a good buy. You get a lot of power for a good price. Running it at 1 ohm and it seems to get a little warm but haven't run into any other issues yet.

boss is the boss
i have two of these 12" 's in a sealed encloser and the pound pretty hard but I think I'm gonna get a ported box so its loud and sounds a little better. but I have no cons at this time.

Boss 12s
These subs hit really hard if you know how to use them. I have two 12s in a separated, ported box with a dual channel 1500wt amp. It was only 200 for everything and it sounds great.

Hmm
Got this amp, shipping was nice and quick, had it running for less than 36 hours and it has stopped working.

Great for HiFi usage
I used it for HiFi replacement. Great frequency range and clarity!
No car usage. Is perfect to replace old original woofer in the Infinity Quantum V. Great sound. Incredible but true!

Boo NXD5500 Amplifier
This amplifier is awesome the price is great and the power is awesome, it's a well built amplifier. Doesn't over heat. I ran it for 3 hours and it didn't over heat. I have it pushing 2 audio dynamics 2500 Watts a piece and its driving them with no problem. My bass is round and solid I would recommend anyone to try these amplifiers.

Powering single 12"
Single 12" MD Sound 12-12175 into 1.5cuft sealed custom fiberglass box. Dual 2ohm. Running parallel for 1ohm load to amp. 3farad capacitor.
Seat-of-pants-meter is telling me an honest 1000-1500wrms or so, maybe more. Can bottom out the subwoofer at higher power. Haven't clamped the output so just guessing. Great bang for your buck.

all boss audio is cheap and only for low usage
people with boss subs and amps always blow them if you try and use them to there potential. i seen people with 12" boss subs barely even hits and the amp was pretty big but i dont believe it was able to push out what it says it could.. I got 2 15 l7's 10 cubic foot box and 2500 watt kicker amp that **** bumps. kicker all the way. Nothing wrong with alpine or memphis audio. DC are good but expensive.

Boss NXD5500
Tons of power for the money. It pushed my two L7s decently, but I've sent it in under warranty twice now and it just broke again right after my warranty got done. It's a great amp if you baby it though.

This amp is really good power per dollar.

Great Sub!
This sub is perfect. I mounted it in a deep hatchback box to fit it into a Chevy Cobalt. It has great range of frequency response, hitting low for rap/hip hop/r&b, and also lots of punch for rock. The best part is the price, which is so low for a dual voice coil sub. Awesome!

Good amp if you know what you are doing.
I have done a TON of research and this amp IS 1 ohm stable but only if you can give it the power it needs. You can't run this amp without a "big 3" upgrade in your car or it will burn itself out when your stock wiring can't supply the needed power. It is good to run 1/0 gauge wire all the way back to the amp too(a 20 foot spool costs $80-100 because it's that important). Also, you will almost cartainly need a high output alternator and a deep cycle battery. I plan on buying this after I do my big 3 upgrade later this month. I will be pairing it up to 2 Boss AR12D subs. 2400W RMS total 4800W Peak will be my system.

BOSS NXD5500 VS Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D
This is the best mono amp in the market! The RMS level almost identical to Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D. In fact, BOSS NXD5500 is even more powerful.

Installed Correctly
All the 1 stars on durability leads me to believe the majority of people dont install this amp correctly. If you are going to have an amp this size you need to do the BIG 3. If you dont "YOU WILL" burn this amp up. This isnt an entry level 4 AWG wire from battery and done amp. You need the BIG 3. You need an extra battery. If not any amp this size burns up.

Don't waste your money
I got this sub as a warranty replacement for another boss sub. I put it in and turned my amp down to break in the new sub. It shorted out after 15 minutes of having it installed. It sounded decent when it worked but not a wise buy.

Total Chaos!
These subs surprised me and still do, I got them in 2015... its 2017 and they are still making heads turn and when I pull up home my peoples tell me that they heard me coming and that the house had a really light vibration. (with no one home I tested it, they weren't lying!) now I have 2 of these in an enclosure that I think may be a bit too large but they do their job still. they are ran by a 2000watt Boss Phantom Series amp that is crazy about running the show. Superior Tint hook it up in my Taurus and with settings just below half (bassBoost/InputLevel) I'm more than satisfied. oh quick note I did connect the speakers and put them into the box and it was a little confusing how the bridge wiring setup shows on paper, but it worked
after a year, still going strong
i still have 2 of these subs powered by a Boss PH2. 1000 (2,000watts amp) and ive had it running 6 days a week for a year now and they still knock hard. ive seen reviews about them popping... well guys each of these subs are 750watts RMS so i think you will need a bigger amp so they wont short out and pop.
they may not be your $400.00 sub but these $40.00 subs can cause some XXtreme Chaos to your trunk lol
i would totally recommend these Chaos subs to ANYONE.
