Don't waste your money

Picture is extremely grainy when it's even visible. In anything other than bright sunshine I get a better rear view turning the monitor off in the dash and looking at the reflection in the black screen. I like the packaging and it looks like it would hold up well if only they put a decent camera into it.

Expensive but you get what you pay for!

I purchased this camera for one of our vehicles and I just placed an order for another. This product is by far the best quality license plate camera that I've ever used. It is made of machined aluminum, not cheap plastic like others. The finish is powder coated a beautiful glossy black without any flaws that I can see. The best part of this camera is very clear and has extremely high resolution. The installation was a snap although the fasteners that were supplied are untreated steel and prone to rust and quite ugly. I bought stainless steel socket screws as a replacement. The main issue with this type of camera is that it maybe tricky to route the cables into the car. It is mainly vehicle dependent as some have the plate mounted near an area where you can route the cables, I was out of luck as my vehicle's plate is mounted with a few inches of space all around the plate. I had to drill a hole to run the wire! So be careful as drilling may be needed for installation.
