Could've been great!

I just received this head unit and put it in my 2000 GMC truck. I will talk about the pros first and then the cons.

Pros: Has all the features you could want in a head unit. Bluetooth works well, the screen has a good picture, controls are easy to navigate, and the sound quality is just what I was hoping for. There are tons of options for adding to your system and some are not listed on this website. Comes equipped with an SD card reader (not listed).

Cons: The connection with the screen is shaky at best and a large bump can jostle the connection causing your screen to reset. The controls on the actual unit themselves are a bit touchy (I blame this on the connectivity problem).

The problem with the screen, I believe, has to do with the dash kit. In my truck it is a 1.5 din. The kit they sent places the unit in the middle of the opening, thus an 1" of the screen hangs over my temperature controls. I believe this is causing some of the problems with the connectivity problem with the screen. I am currently looking for another kit, or might have to modify my current kit.

Upon further review, the price can't be beat for the features you get. At this point, I am happy with the head unit minus the connectivity issues. I am going to continue to mess with it and will update this review at a later date. I hope this helps everyone out because there is nothing on the web about this company or unit. If you have questions please ask and I will assist you in any way possible.

Appearance Striking with a Price that will get your Attention !!

The Features alone on my Absolute DMR-760BT was well worth the price..Have had mine for 6 months now and still get compliments from friends on everything from sound quality..all the really cool features...but honestly all thats a plus!!!! But I purchased my stereo system caused it transformed the look inside my SUV from blan to Damm thats Nice. Also w/ living in an Apartment and getting out and about quite abit the easy detachable face will give you peace of mind along w/ the LED Lights that activate once the face is removed. This review is being written by a consumer thats 100 percent Satisfied..Would highly recommend ! ..Sorry cant rate the durability yet but if my stereo breaks today I'll still feel i got my moneys worth.

Great for the price

I just received this item and had it installed by best buy. Even they were surprised with all the features given the off brand name. The unit looks great and works great so far. The Blue tooth works great, but the mic for phone calls is not the greatest and you have to speak extremely loud for the other person to hear you. But being able to play all my music from my phone without having to use a cord is a dream. All in all, this item is great for the price so far. DVDs play great with good clarity, not all MP-4 files play but I have had that issue with other electronics also so its not necessarily the unit.

Decent stereo for a Decent price.

Installed it myself pretty easily, the included plugs and adapters from Sonic Electronix worked perfect. The stereo is ok, the interface is a little muddy and not very precise. The minimal volume is actually pretty loud. The bluetooth works but not very well, with a cell phone or iPod touch. So it's ok, I didn't expect it to blow me away.

Above average item

PROS: Easy to install and the menus are somehow easy to move around. The sound is ok, but is not that great. The Bluetooth is good enough to use it. Having all kinds of inputs is a huge plus.

CONS: It cuts the filenames to 8 characters. It only shows the ID3 tags of the MP3s. Having the adaptor with the USB right in the driver's corner is a huge disappointment. I tried unsuccessfully to use a 16GB, 8GB and 4GB SD memory cards and it doesn't read them. It only reads 2 and 1 GB cards. what the hell is that? The manual doesn't say what kind or type of memory you can use, and what type of format. I wasted my money buying a 16, 8, and 4 GB SD with no use for them whatsoever, because those fools of ABSOLUTE do not even mention that you can ONLY USE up to 2GB SD cards and up to 4GB USB memory.

Not bad for the price

Pros: For the price you can't beat this stereo. It has a great 7" screen and love the fact that the face is detachable. Perfect for upgrading your factory head unit.

Cons: If your looking for great sound quality forget about it. There is no equalizer for the stereo sound, just set presets from the factory. I had a Pioneer sound system and compared to this its horrible. For my speaker I have alpines speaker, 2 amps, and 2 subs, with a capacitor. It made my speakers sound like crap. Other wise its an OK stereo minus the bad sound quality. If you have a name brand car stereo I would not advice you to get it, unless you don't mind the bad sound quality. And if you like your sound to have that subwoofer sound don't even bother. Your barking up the wrong tree.

Conclusion: The sound quality was so bad that I have 2 car stereos connected together in my car. The 7" Absolute and my old Pioneer system for the serious sound quality. It's nice now, I can play a movie (sound turn all the way down on that unit) and listen to my pioneer sound system at the same time.
