Very satisfied!

I installed this product on the face of a custom fiberglass sealed box that I installed in the corner of my trunk. I was concerned that this may only be installed onto a traditional mdf or plywood box. Now that I see the engineering and design put into this speaker grill I can assure you that this will install onto any box or enclosure. If you have screws or bolt holding your sub onto your enclosure than this grill will mount right up.
Some reviewers state that the sub must be uninstalled before this can be mounted but I didn't find this to be true. You can unscrew one screw at a time and mount the grill clips.

Great Grill Design!!

This kit comes with everything you need! It may seem a little complex when you open the box but if you have an Alpine Type-R and need a grill this is the only way to go!

Great value and build quality

This grill is awesome. Compliments my type "R" subs. Very sturdy and well built. I love the trim piece that covers the screws and mounting brackets. Gives the grill and overall sub install a very clean look.

Grill does it job with no rattle

Grill does it job with no rattle. Only problem is apline gives plastic spacers. I own the type-S sub. I Snaped the type-s plastic spacer when fasten the screws. Wanted to get a nice face seal with the speake, so you can to torque it down. I had to take it apart and used the type-R spacers. Lucky they give you both spacers. The type-R will also work. Only difference the typeR is longer spacers because of more speaker cone movement.

Alpine grill

It fit my Alpine Type R SWR12. Just don't expect to remove and reinstall it more than a couple of times. There are about 8 plastic pieces that hold the grill down and atleast one broke every time I reinstalled it

Excellent Grill

Fit and quality are top notch. I have an S series 12" Alpine sub. The instructions said to use the white clips. Wrong. It took the black ones. Once I figured that out, it went together nicely.

Perfect Protection

This grille gives my R-W12D4 the protection it needs from any damage to the cone. The design and built is sturdy and I really like how it blends in with the overall look of the subwoofer. Most grilles on subs stick out while the design of this grille blends into the sub.

This item will make your subwoofer box beautiful, as well as protect it. Some people complain about how easy it is to break the plastic clips that the screws go into. It is important to line them up perfectly in their slots. That will avoid breaking them. Be careful to drill the screw hole perfectly in the center of the clip's hole. If you do it right, they don't break. You will love it!

product looks cool and the metal portion is decent quality but the plastic fittings that secure the sub to the box and the grill to the sub are very easy to break when trying to secure the sub down properly so that there's no loss of pressure through air gaps. also, the outer rubber ring that finishes the install and clean it up cosmetically is semi irritating to put on and falls off if barely touched it seems. love alpine and it's a great band but there were a few small issues with this item for me anyways

Sweet look

LOVE THEM!!! Read that they were hard to install... umm, ok??? They are different to install but straight forward. Very heavy duty but, I had to rebuild my encloser over and the clips did not hold up real well. Three broke on each on either removal or remount. Contacted alpine and they don't sell just the clips as parts but the coast of a new grill want bad to get extra clips
