Big things in a small package

This amp is powerful for it's size. It is underrated and goes beyond expectation. My amps birthsheet tested at 116 x 4 channels and 414w for the sub. This is only recommended for those wanting to upgrade their system without having to purchase two seperate amplifiers. It pushes clean power and has amazing sound if matched with good speakers and sub. I returned the PDX-5 to purchase the PDX-F6 and MRX-M1000, because I needed way more power than this can give. It would shut off and go into protective mode. This is a good amp, and highly recommended for those who just want to upgrade their systems for quality sound inside the car, but if you want to annoy your fellow citizens, I suggest going with two separate amplifiers... make sure it's an Alpine amp these are great.

Nice Amp...

I bought this amp for use in my work car. It is powering Boston Acoustics S50 components, Boston Acoustics S55's, and a Boston Acoustics G210-44 subwoofer in a sealed enclosure. It sounds really clean and it is quite loud enough for me. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an amp that can do everything all in one and doesn't want to put a lot of strain on their alternator. It is also very compact and runs pretty cool.

Love it

I would recomend this product. I use it to run my door speakers and a JL W3 and it screams and beats. Its also very compact and fits under my driver seat.

Very Nice Amp

Just installed into my ranger super cab. I am using Polk Audio 5x7 MM571 in the front and rear. Plus a image dynamics idq 10 dvc wired @ 2 ohms. With the proper wiring, sub in the proper sealed enclosure, and crossover adjustments this sounds amazing! Very clean, nice sound and highly recommended amp!

Great little amp

I have a sub compact car (Toyota Yaris) and this small workhorse packs incredible wattage and headroom in a little package that fits easily in my hatchback. The sound quality is great for a Class D amp, I would recommend it to anybody except the pickiest of audiophiles

Convenience of Power

Really nice power amp in a small package. The signal was clear and power was continous. Only issue was after moderate listeining my amp went into a protected mode, I have no idea why. So as of right now I'm in limbo for power. Go figure.

Alpine PDX5

Awesome component, buy it! I went through two other name brand amps and they burned out, this one has been a gem for 2.5 years.

No regrets.

After being out of the stereo world for quite a few years, I wanted an amp that was easy to tune, had the power & ground separated, but most of all sounded great.
I knew that I would be mounting my amp in a tight location so heat could potentially become an issue.

After doing a little research and narrowing my choices to the JL 500/5, Boston GT50, and the Alpine PDX-5, it's obvious the choice I made. I'm not an audiophile so I found the JL to have WAY too many adjustments and I wasn't pleased with the staging feature of the front/rear power rating, but the sub rating was good. The Boston was simple, offered a good sub rating, but the front/rear wattage was a little low. BOTH amps were a little large and to my knowledge are NOT digital amps so heat could be my issue.

The Alpine, which I didn't find many people on car forums having, seemed to be the better choice given my requirements. I'm running 4 Boston 6.5" coaxials, and a 12" Boston G3. I also have a 2 farad cap.

clean and loud

I have this amp hooked to my Infinity 6.5 in my front doors and back deck lid and they are loud and clear. If that is all the amp could do it would be worth every penny but its not i hooked my 2 jl w3v3 10's to it and they bumped nice. They were underpowered but still sounded nice. If you don't want to upgrade your alternator but still want a loud clean system then this is the amp for you
