total control of the H701
The h701 can be controlled by some alpine head units but some of them won't let you access all of the functions. I can't say which ones though (I think auto EQ). The rux controller will allow you to get every feature working out of the H701. It looks nice and is easily conceilable as it is about 1.5inch thick but standard din size when looking at it from the front.
You don't have to have this plugged into the H701 all the time, just plug it in when you need to tune or make some changes and unplug it once your done.
If you are using a digital output to your H701 and your not using an alpine deck, then you will need the H701 to control the volume. When using digital outputs, other head units volume won't work.
The round front nob gets scratched easily and it could be complicated for amateurs to work with.
If you know what everything does, then this is a breeze to navigate through and tune.

this gives total control of your head unit! great sound! really nice. a little complicated, but you get used to it.
