It's wire

I like the fact that it is silver coated copper wire. But it is not twisted pair. Twisted pair is when the positive & negative conductors are twisted around each other. This is just zip wire, but it does the job.

Fits perfectly with NVX X-Series xp65 midbass woofer

Purchased these to run speaker wire to my amp for new speakers. first off I was a little susceptible about amount of wire was inside the installation around the ofc bc it looked really thin. but after I stripped off the tips there was actually a lot more then it looked from end piece when it was shipped.

Was also Confused why they put on two layers of installation

great battery

I got this battery as my starting battery for my 99 civic and was worried at first because of how small this thing is. But once I hooked it up and got my amps hooked up I was really impressed. Its been working great for months now. Going to buy another one as a second battery for my stereo

Great wire, bad measuring

The quality of the wire is great, it's super flexible and definitely does the trick. The only gripe I have is that they sent me exactly 24ft of wire instead of the 25ft as advertised. I was first skeptical because it was hand cut and not packaged, and sure enough with the help of a tape measure and my wife, it was 24 ft. -___- I've had exceptional service from Sonic in the past so hopefully this was just a fluke. With that said, make sure to measure out your received wire to make sure it's accurate.

Great box for my type r

Box sounds great with a type r. I have mine wired to 2 ohms on a hifonics Brutus brx 2000.1 with a second battery and zero gauge wire and it sounds amazing

BANGER!!!

Bought this box for a 12" type r that i had in a sealed box. It hits sooo much harder in this box that i will never get a sealed box again. This box has a wider range than my sealed had with much more punch. I have 1 12 running on about 700w rms in a 08 camry and its a lot louder than people in know with 2 12's. The flush sub mount also looks great compared to the cheaper boxes on this site.

Nice material, easy to work with

The insulation material is very flexible and lays nicely. It's also easy to strip off and looks good. I used it to install some tweeter from a burnt out set of components and it's sound better than ever. Very good for the price.

very nice sub box

For a prefab box it is nice, I put a sundown 12 there 600watt woofer, the lows isn't to bad it could be better, but it wasn't built for the woofer specs. Construction is top notch and it looks really nice, I would recommend if your not a bass head, and putting into a nice car. And it fits in my 2013 mustang.

Excellent quality speaker wire

I purchased 100 feet of this wire for my car to re-wire the speakers and install door lock actuators in 4 doors. The wire is flexible and the insulation is strong. It's easy to work with and easy to solder. The gauge is as advertised, meaning you don't get some crappy thin wire.

I had 2 of these in my galant in both ported and sealed boxes and with a ported box they hit hard i also had an orion monoblock 3000 watt amp pushin both of them but i fried a wire to one and fried the other sub so now iv got 2 type r's on their way but these subs were amazin so i would recomend these to anyone wantin a hard but budget system just dont put too many watts to them lol

i have had these subs now for about six months Just got a capacitor for it and it sounds great. I bought both of these subs for about $200 great price. At B*** B** they are $*** each. So I'm hundred bucks off not bad. I wire these subs down to 1 ohm to a hifonic hfi1000d amp This app is perfect because it runs at 1000 RMS. I highly recommend you get a capacitor 1.5 fraud is good. I got two of the sws- 12d4 with hifonics brutus 2000.1d two sets of kenwood kfc-x184c 6.5 components with tweeters on 4ch autotek ahl 1050.4 with autotek crossover system is hella clear i cant complain one bit im mean like they in the truck singing and playing instruments.....the bass hits hard but not as hard as it needs to cause the highs and mids are the strength to this system hits hard but i still want more bass deeper lows maybe ill just add 2 more since i was told the amp can handle 4.

Apline you have done it again!

Running 2 of these @1ohm with a HFI100.1d amp. My subwoofer box is 100% to Alpines ported specs. Let me tell you for the price these blow kicker comp S/D out of the water and sound much better. Very sleek high quality build. Please understand that a 64oz quality magnet is the same as a 128oz cheap one. You get what you pay for when its comes to quality subwoofers. Don't get me wrong these are entry level but they sound much better then other available options.

These subwoofers retail most places anywhere from $85-169 even at 169 they are still a decent deal if you want quality subwoofers from a company you can trust.

Awesome Sub, it's cheap here but in most places its a 200 dollar sub with tax so it's not a cheap sub at all. It slams i have one in aported box in a 98 bravada and people think i have two its so loud cant wait to get another!

Great Woofers for the Price! Very Pleased!

I bought two of these woofers and before i had time to break them in they were already working better than i expected. I am a music fanatic and i have dealt with systems before these and nothing can compare. These woofers are AMAZING! I couldn't be happier with them. They pound and work with any kind of music. Country music is even better with these subs playing. I would highly recommend these, for the price, you cannot go wrong.

It hits hard and clean. I love it for the fact of not only can it keep up with the double bass drum of my metal/hardcore, but it delivers that low end bass for rap and dubstep.

Not good

This sub is not good in small sealed enclosures it doesn't hit the ranges at all I bought this sub because it was a shallow subwoofer but not a shallow mount so don't waste your money unless your box is more than 10 inches deep.

ive got mine from best buy and hooked them up to an alpine mrp-m1000 and before they even had time to break in i was very impressed the ONLY thing i dont like about them is i dont have a big enough box for them and its very difficult to try to invert them to get them right in the hole and they do look great inverted btw:)

Amazing

I bought two of these woofers for my chevy ext cab in a custom sealed box under the back seat. The woofers are only 241 watts a piece max and they SLAM!! I cant wait to get a bigger amp and really give these things power! My system is all JL and Alpine product, i will always recommend Alpine type s woofers because they are the most bang for your buck. So perfect for a system on a budget.

Great quality little box!

This is surprisingly better quality than i expected. The size is not that big which is exactly what I was looking for and the carpeted part looks very nice and NOT cheap. The front glossy trim piece looks very nice as well. My JL W3V3 sub fit snug and perfectly in and it sounds deeper and cleaner than my older box for sure. The only thing that I actually was not expecting was that the box did not have wires attached to the terminals inside the box to attach to sub but good thing I had the ones from my old box and I just swapped it out.

Great Box!!!

This box is amazing for the price. It has a nice, sleek faceplate and an eye-catching design that I like. It's also filled with polyfill to cut out the port noise, which makes an awesome sound. The box is a little on the big side so with my Pontiac G5 i had to take out my folding rear seats to put it in my trunk. Even doing that, it was a tight fit getting it in, but once I got it in my trunk it was a perfect fit. It also has a flush mount for your subwoofer. It is a perfect box for my Power Acoustik 2500 MOFO 12inch subwoofer. I would buy again.

Can't beat for the price

The box is well built true spec on MDF. A little smaller than expected but that's ok it's pretty heavy compared to other boxes around the same size. It does not come wired and you will have to find terminals through white polyfill to tear open a slit to run wires. Don't really like the terminals on the back but they work fine. Its a good looking box mine shipped fast and no tears or dents. as others said doesn't hit the really low lows that great but not enough to where id return it. I'm running an r series alpine and it hits HARD for what it is.

Purchased this for my NVX VCW122v2 subwoofer. Finally gave up on finding the right sealed box and got this ported box which basically fits the subwoofer like a glove. Good construction, easy to set up, has spade ends for the interior connectors. The exterior connectors are banana or exposed cable. Belva sells a set of banana clips, clipped together by a red plastic clip, excellent, adds a little bit of a professional touch to the install. Get them, they're like $12 and worth every penny. What can I say, its the right box for the install. (Side note) The rubber ring that comes with the NVX subwoofer does not fit under the current piano black faceplate on the box, don't use it, its a headache.

Not so good in a pre-fab.

In a 1.0cu. sealed box in my 2015 Nissan Sentra, this sub...sucked. Lots of output but not very clear. Rolled off heavily after 28hz. Huge peak at 50hz, bass note were sluggish. Not worth it in my opinion, in a prefab box.

Bang bass for the buck I always trust Alpine speakers and subs for my car. Now needing a more powerful amp to push this woofers. Had Pioneer in before but, only 300 rms per speaker Alpines are 500 rms not bad.

I bought 3 of these because of the price. Probably 1 of the best deals right now. So far I've built 2 boxes. 1.6 @ 34 hz with 2 3" aero ports and the other 2.5 @ 34 hz. With 2 4" aero ports. The smaller box is definitely a SQ set up. Sounds good hits good and blends well with mids and highs.
2.5 gets loud has a much deeper tone and not as boomy as I thought it would be. Would suggest going with a bigger box then what Alpine recommends if wanting to get loud.
Not the sub for going super low but if you're not into that this would be an excellent budget choice that also sounds great. At the moment I have jbl ,Dayton,morel,nvx and other Alpine subs. I wasn't in anyway dissatisfied with the type s 12

Alpine Type-S SWS-12D4

This is a very high quality built subwoofer. You can't beat this price on the quality that you're getting.

Good subs

To hit the cons first these subs are 26hrtz and you want 20 hrtz to hit the lows lows real deep these won't give you that. Also the sensitivity is like 86 db which will take the 500 rms these need to hear them so a boss amp or some fake non cea certified amp won't cut it. I am tired of people saying some no name sub sounds awesome that is rated 1000 watt rms and 2500 peak sounds great off a 5000 watt boss amp and takes it all day that 5000 watt amp is pushing 400 true watts don't be fooled by newbs. Ok back to the type s alpine subs, they hit real hard and are clean but in the way fosgate punch speakers sound clean and not really catching the lows. It's almost as rockford and Alpine only care about rock music with thier subs and they aren't really for electric or hip hop at all. With that being said i like them but just like fosgate they aren't no JL subs and never will be.

Love the sound quality of this sub. Alpine has done a great job on this speaker.If you are looking for a SQ speaker that has great presence this sub is a good choice and the price makes it a no brainer. Running it on a JBL 750 watt mono amp at 2 ohms to have plenty of headroom on the amp.

Up in smoke

So I burned through 2 of these. I had one in a ported box with a 500watt v power amp... The first one went up in smoke.. Second one did same... Maybe the amp just pushed more than it said but I'm use to brands that can take way more watts than they say before smoking. I would like to try a type r but these has got me turned off a bit.

I have always used Alpine in the past had 2 type R12 in civic but, wanted a good bass with a better price tag. Only issue I have my amp is too small to push these beast. This is my second purchase for this sub , the price is right sound quality is great. If you have the correct set up and amp.This sub is worth every penny. It's not a sub that's gonna bump your heart out but you will no you are working with something. I would recommend this to any begging or someone who like enough bass just not to much.

I paired this box with the NVX DVC (Dual Voice Coil) 12 inch subwoofer. The box really brings out the bass that the sub is putting out. The box also feels quite sturdy and looks beautiful. I would highly recommend this box, especially if you'll be pairing it with the same subwoofer as mine.

It is the perfect amount of bass to add to your stereo system, when paired with a good amp it is enough to make all the mirrors shake and your body tingle all over.
