component substitute
I bought a pair of these for my dash, since my car has 3.5" mounting in the dash and 6" in the two doors, I decided to get a couple sets of coaxials intead of a component set.
These little speakers distort very easily with any bass, but they can handle 22w rms from my deck very easily since I put in 600hz inline crossovers. That limits the lows and some of the mids, making this little Alpine coaxial act more like an extended range tweeter to complement the 6" coaxials I put in my doors.
These play with very detailed and crisp highs, and provide piercing and strong sound. These add punch to a snare drum in music, and put out good amounts of sound.
