amazing
I just put a pair of these in the rear deck of my car (infinite baffle), they are being driven with 40w rms from a kenwood KAC6402 amp with vinyl sound dampening to the inside of the rear deck soon to come, hopefully further improving already great bass response. I love Alpines approach with this set, the tweeters are small and are not flashy, and the woofers and crossovers are beautiful. Note that there are 3 adjustments for the tweeters (0db, -3db, -6db), most other sets only have two if any at all.
These speakers take every bit of the power I throw at them and they sound incredibly clear. The mids and highs are so crisp that snare drums have a piercing sort of punch to them. The bass extension is very impressive, these will play nearly any note, and when I have the system cranked up to high volume, these type-s components put out enough bass to sound like a have a small sub.
I mounted the tweeters using the angled surface mount. The tweeter mounting was probably the hardest part about installing this set, but that is because there was no stock mounting location on my rear deck so I had to drill some holes and fish some wire.
The speakers overall are of very high quality, probably some of the best sounding components you could get in the sub-150$ price range. The only bad part is that they did not come with any wiring or terminals, save for the leads out of the tweeters. Otherwise this is a great set, with 3 included tweeter mounting options and an adapter, if needed, for the woofers.
