My first real system!!

When I got my first ride, a Olds Delta 88, my bro hooked me up with these little guys as a gift, and I never would've thought that they performed they way the did especially in such a big car! No one ever beleived they were entry level Alpine 10's till I showed them my trunk!

I eventually moved to the type r's because I wanted more power, but if your looking for a great sounding woofer, not SPL, you will not be dissapointed in these little guys. Especially with the Sonic pricing that can't be beaten!!!

bumps for a 10

holy s***, i just bought one of these type e 10's and it surprised me.... im only running 150w rms to it and it slams! much much better than the kicker comp 10s i had....alpine has quality for a good price! get this sub you will not regret it! i recommend a sealed enclosure, but thats just me.

Great sound

I have 1 of these in a .75cuft sealed enclosure in the trunk of my '95 240sx and it sounds great. I'm running it off of a MTX Audio TA4252 amp and I couldn't ask for more for the price. I listen to alot of Tool, RATM, etc. and the clarity is excellent. I highly recommend this sub for a cheap solution to decent sound in your daily driver.

Decent budget woofer

Put two in a buddies car and they were nice for the cost.... nothing special but they are cheap and you get what you pay for

LOVE these subs

I bought a pair of these from a friend after he upgraded to a 12" type R and paired them with a 1250 watt power acoustik amplifier. Granted they are a bit underpowered, but they still shake the mirrors like an earthquake. A few of my buddies have kicker comps installed and they pale in comparison. On top of the performance I got a great price and Ive trusted Sonic Electronix for all of my audio purchases so far.

GREAT!

Bought 2 in a Basswox box powered by a 600w RMS MTX amp and it POUNDS! Can be cranked really high without any distortion! Very satisfied with this product, the only thing I need now is a capacitor!

Five 10's

I have SIX 10" Type-E's in a custom ported fiberglass enclosure. I wired them in series/parallel to get a final impedance of 2.8 ohms to a single MRP-450 Alpine Class-D. It is very loud at high volumes while remaining accurate across all sound levels. For the price, they are good entry level woofers. Probably better for sealed, than ported.

OK Enrty Level Sub

I had 2 Polk MOMO 10" SUBS originally and they sounded excellent. I blew the voice coil on one of them so had to buy a pair of new subs. I bought these Alpines based on the reviews on the net. I will start off saying that the Polks were higher quality so I will not compare apples to apples. After about 10 hours of breaking in the Alpines they sounded OK. At higher volume they sounded distorted with music with high bass like Chevelle. They would bottom out making a popping sound. I made the decision to send them back and buy another set of Polks. This sub is OK for those who want a bit of kick in thier system, but not geared for good good bass response at higher levels. I would have rated these at 3, but the price is attractive for those on a budget so I would rate them at 4. Meanwhile while waiting on the new subs, I put my other good polk in a single cabinet and realized that sending the Alpines back was the right choice. The single Polk sounded better than the 2 Alpines. If you want good bass than buy one high quality 10" sub for 130.00 or so, you will be more satisfied then 2 of these puppies.

Good Sub

I liked this sub, I got it just to make my car bump and that's just what it does. I got a nice enclosure and JBL amp from Sonic Elextronix for low price but great value and it was sent in less than a week to my door step.
I wouldn't ever think twice about a different sub maybe just adding one more 10" :)

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put this sub in one of my work trucks and it is very impressive. Now my crew fights to drive the oldest truck in the fleet.

Good little speaker

I would highly recommend this subs. Alpine is known for there excellent subs I owned a 12" Alpine type r and it was an amazing sub but for these type-s I was really not expecting them to have great bass for there lowest class sub. I have 2 custom boxes to fit my Acura tl and have a pioneer 900 watt amp to power them I have the amp really low and I didnt even bridge or bring it down to 1ohm and they hit really hard, deep bass and good quality sound so its a definite yes in my book.

Not what I expected

I recently installed a pair these in a Honda Element with 500 Watt Class D Alpine amplifier and was disappointed. Everyone on here was raving about them but it didn't live up to the hype to me. Go with two Kicker COMP 10's and a ZX300.1, it will put this Alpine product to shame and it's supposed to be comparable.

good buy

very nice sub good with clean notes with rock rap anything really. i had one for about a month then went with two. the bass went up and the clean notes were still the same good sub for the price. use ONLY a sealed box. i put it in a ported box and i fried one of them so i am back to one in the old pro box (sounds amazing) still a good sub through and through

great bang for the buck !

I put 300W to this sub...from a PDX-5 Amp... in a ported 1.2 Cu Ft box I built and it rocked!! it was loud and clear and responsive.... I hit 132.2 dB at a local comp...and I won the Stock SQ class (which is really what my system is set up for ...Sound Quality ) Ive since changed to a Much more expensive Sub (for even better sound quality) but for for the Price of that SWE-1043 ...It was an Amazing Deal ... I kept mine ...and will Definitely use it in the future on some other project. For Sure ...It was a solid unit for a little 10"... and fit my needs perfectly when I was on tight budget.

Excellent Value Entry-Level Subwoofer

This Type E is a very affordable entry-level sub. They sound good and look even better.

Alpine quality shows in the details. The SWE-1043's come with a really nice snap-in grille and the included rubber gasket makes a professional fit to any enclosure. I don't think you'll find a better sub at this price anywhere.

A lot of speaker for the price

Considering the cost and the size, this speaker puts out a lot of bass with a minimal amount of power. I have it in two vehicles, and along with 6.5" components, sounds awesome.
