ALPINE SWR-1023D AND SWR-1223D

I purchased 1 Alpine SWR-1023D and 2 SWR-1223D sub woofers.
The SWR-1023d is the latest 10 inch, 2 ohm, dual voice coil modle of the alpine type "r" sub. The srw-1223 is the 12 inch modle with the same voice coil setup.
I have been installing high preformance car audio and home theater systems for 30 years. I have built many award winning systems and i can say at this price you cant touch these subs. The only thing that comes close to this level of preformance is the jl audio w7 series subs. Which will out preform these subs by a very small margin, for $450 each. Dollar for dollar these speakers kick but, I drive the 10" with a class d 1024 watt mono amp and drive the 2-12" with a 1800 watt per ch stereo amp. These amps run the speakers very hard but can not seem to hurt them. Other speaker systems that I have run with these amps ran out of x-max (forward or rearward cone movement) but these have handeled everything i have thrown at them. I am sure if you get stupid with these speakers you can break anything but if you use them properly they will last and kick your but with incrediably loud and low bass.

GREAT SUB!

I got this sub when it first came out for 170-180 about half a year ago. It was my first sub and i had it hooked up to an old Rockford amp that put out 550 rms in to 2 and it was ok alot of people hate on tens when the only big diff. is that 12's and 15's and others just push more air. And just a couple weeks ago i baught a Alpine Mrp-m1000 amp and hook it up to the type r i had it at 4 ohms so ithe amp was pushing 600W into the sub and thats what it Rms is anyways and let me tell you this thing was LOUD .........I HIGHLY Recommend this sub and if you do get it then deff. look in to getting an mrp-m1000 it costs alot but it is a really good amp and if you upgrade to type x ( which i am and just ordered ) you will already have an amp

BOOOOOMMMM!

if there were a 6th star it would be selected in all of the catagories this sub is amazingly easy to install and kicks like none other. Not saying that you Should but i have 2 of these into a monoblock that pushes 1500 watts RMS through the subs and these subs have never thought about blowing. Extremely well made. You will not be disapointed in the purchase of these subs cleanest bass you will find.

very well built

Way better than what i had before. I replaced Phoenix Gold with these. It's like day, and night. Good quality, good sound. they barely move, and produce nice bass. Very tight, they also fit in a small box. I had to make a ring spacer out of 3/4" particle board, but managed to get them under the rear seats of my 2004 dodge ram. I recommend these if you have limited space. reasonable price too!

Alpine type R subwoofers!

I would recomend this sub to any one who has very little mounting depths. The ease of use and the fact that they handle alot of power. These subs are very clean sounding, rich and deep base. I love these subs.

Excellent Subwoofer, great price

This particular subwoofer, the 10" Alpine Type R (SWR-1023), is a 500 watt RMS sub that is great for someone who is looking for some high quality sound, with a really good amount of thump, and at a low price.

The sub is installed in a custom fiberglass enclosure (0.7 CuFt) built into the right cubby behind the wheel well. It looks great and sounds even better.

For the price, you simply won't find a comparable subwoofer. You may find ones that claim more power handling capability, and you'll certainly be able find some that cost less. But this one will have better sound, better quality, and better reliability.

What did you say?

I've got two of these under the rear seat of my Nissan Titan powered with 1200 watts from a Cadence ZRS-C65. I wish I could have two 12's in a ported enclosure, but that's not feasible with keeping the truck's seat configuration. Despite that, these obviously get loud in a 0.6 ft^3 per sub sealed enclosure. With the two bass boost options on the amp they get reasonably low, as in B- overall, and an A+ rating for diameter and enclosure type and volume.

When supplied with Lil' Wayne's "A Milli" or Mt. Eden's "Omen" I end up deaf for half a day.

All new Monster 16 ga. Twisted speaker wire due to the H/U being Pre-out only (Pain in the *ss to run to the doors in a Titan).

alpines #1!

i bought two alpine type-r 10" and they won my class in a M.E.C.A competition.... only was running on 400 watts but i punched out 135.7DB on the sound meter...i ran them in a 4th order bandpass so they should have been louder than 135.7DBif i was ported but i ran with a walmart amp and still won. type r's are awesome! best bang for the buck!

Great Buy!

I didn't intend on purchasing this product, but they ran out of stock of the other Alpine sub that I wanted. But this product is amazing, and really easy to install. It made a huge difference in the back of my Scion tC.
