Nice for a while

i used to have one of these subs and it was very nice, i had it in a ported universal memphis box and it was pretty loud and had impressive sound quality, and it is very afordable. the downfall to my experience was that i put just a little too much power to it and blew the sub :( it was nice while it lasted though. later i got a typeR and it was even better. alpine makes great stuff.

Awsome subwoofer

My friend just bought two for these subs and they sound great. hes has them running with a 1000 watt amp and the kick harder than most 900 watt subs that i have seen/ heard!! these are great subs i would recomend them!!

Nice

This sub is very good for a person who wants to add bass to their sound system. If you put this sub in a small ported enclosure it will respond to you with loud accurate bass. This sub with a 760 watt amp with the gain half way up sounds amazing. Great sub for the money highly reccomend. Sound quality isnt bad but there is worse

awesome... to much$

these subs when i heard were awesome... they didnt hit the lows that good but in all the pounded. when they hit i really felt it in my chest. my friend has 2 with a 750.1 alpine amp in a sealed encloser. great sub but i wouldnt spend this much money for them i would just spend a little bit more and buy something really good.

Alpine SWS-1242D 12" Type S Is Great

I have 2 of these great subs hooked up to a mono alpine mp350 700w amp and it bumps. They sound very clear at even high volume. There is absolutely no distorsion. Before these subs I had 2 JL Audio W3 v2's on a 500 watt JL mono amp and these alpines blow them away. These are the best subs I have even owned...not to metion they are very inexpensive!

Good for Entry Level

I just put one of these in my daughter's car along with a 400 watt RMS Alpine amp.

She wanted bass just to say she had a "system". I wanted quality without breaking the bank. This combo filled both requirements.
