pretty good for entry level upgrade.
mid base lackin but tweetters work good would sound better if you have a amp hooked up to this wich is probley why my mid bass is weak. overall good design and sound quality for the price.

definitly worth their weight
I purchased these speakers as a replacement for the stock ones. !free warning them up and letting them break in I have to say they far exceeded my expectations I have them wired to a pioneer fhx700bt 50wX4 pushing my mids and highs and they take whatever I throw at them .

unbelievable sound!
These Alpine type E's are all about sound quality. Lows, Mids, and highs all reproduce with such accuracy. They work best with a 50x4 headunit powering them. For such a low price, I was honestly blown away when I heard these babies singing in a 97 maxima. they out played a pair of hertz speakers of the same size with a crossover! The Honda with the hertz was amped but had more distortion at the same volume level. must have been a bad install cause the hertz are 340 bucks. these sxe 1750's are underpriced by at least 100 bucks!

Great sound at great price
After som advice from sonic I instaled these in place of a pair of 6x9's with a adapter kit. There is a loss of the bass as compared with the factory speakers but they have a soft warm tone and the tweaters have a nice sound that is not screachey. If you want bass this in not for you, with a subwoofer they balance out nicely

great value
I installed these in my 2005 VW GLI with the monsoon system. installation was not easy. It was not the fault of Alpine. It was all VW's fault. the speakers sound great! To tell the truth they sound better then I expected for under $50. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to replace factory speakers without replacing anything else. I have only had them installed for about a month but I still gave them a 5 in durability. Hope Alpine doesn't make me a liar.

Alpine SXE 6.5" component with satellite tweeter.
Great product, i plan on buying a set for the rear doors on my trailblazer, perfect fit and love the ability to post treble in a higher location. has better balance with my subs.

Nice sounding entry level component set
I bought 2 sets of these for my 98 blazer 4door. I was a little concerned about the fit but all went well. All I had to do was drill new holes to mount the speakers(speakers and mounting base), reused the factory screws also. I only elected to mount the tweeters in the front set of doors and as long as your hole is tight install is a snap.
As far as sound goes, they are still breaking but sound very nice. Very clear and full sound. They don't hit extremely hard but they are not a "big bass" speaker, that's what my subs for. They will distort if turned up very loud as there are no filters in front of the mid, only the tweet.
Mine are powered off my deck, alpine 133bt

Good replacement speaker
This speaker is an excellent replacement for factory speakers. Suggested to use with a small amplifier/aftermarket radio. I have this installed directly to the head unit with the RMS power running at about 25 watts. Using a spectrum analyzer the frequency seems to peak at around 10kHz which can be a persistent ring in your ear if you are picky. Also the midbass/low midrange seems to drop out which I have a hard time EQing. However it provides accurate response of most frequencies and, when installed with sound deadening and a baffle, can be a great listening experience. Also the price is nice!

Great value
for the price, these are great speakers to listen to.they're not gonna impress with sheer volume but given their modest power rating and coupled with a decent amp and some deadening, great value for the daily driver.good job alpine.i used stinger roadkill for the doors.worked wonders.

Alpine///Quality
WOW, these speakers sounds awesome!!
I know that Type E are their basic lineup but the quality never lets you down, its like you bought the Type R but obviously, less expensive and less watts.
I didn't matter about the power handling because I was feeding them with an Aftermarket stereo that is only rated at 14wRMSx4.
My only cons are that it does not provide that BASS that you would expect, the frequencies start at 60hz so is not too low like 30hz or so...
Overall, I recommend it to everybody who likes quality and fidelity! ;)

Gotta love Alpine
I like the flexibility of mounting the tweeters anywhere and not having them down at your feet. The 61/2" speaker is sound great, the only complaint was the tweeter was a bit raspy but I easily mellowed them with 2.2uf capacitors.

Great for headunit power!
This component set is a fantastic solution for a simple car audio sound system. When planning a tight budget system these are perfect front doors paired along with reasonable coaxial speaker for the rear. Powered with an aftermarket head unit with any kind of eq and a subwoofer, you can have a loud n clear sound.

Good Speakers at a Great Price
I used these in a new body style Silverado, and the factory speakers are wired just like these (both fed from the same channel with just a filter on the tweeter) so install was easy and they are light years better than factory. I hope to add an amp someday for more clarity with the volume cranked.

Exceptional value and quality
Purchased these to replace blown factory speakers in my truck. These were a perfect fit, and the shallow mounting depth was a huge bonus for me. These have exceptional sound, and we're a fantastic price. I enjoy the crisp, distortion free sound they provide at all volume levels.

Exactly what you expect from Alpine
Actually better than I expected for a Type E speakers. Amazing clarity and detail throughout the full range. Couple them with a subwoofer and you have an outstanding setup on a budget. I've owned 4prs in 2 seperate vehicles and they've never disappointed. Don't let the looks fool you- these speakers perform.
