Alpine ILX-W670

This head unit replaced an old Pioneer navigation unit. The radio screen is bright and responsive. The flow works well when navigating the screens. The Android Auto is instant when plugged into phone. My favorite aspect is the control buttons across the bottom of the radio, instead of down the left, vertical side like most other brands. I prefer the bottom row because I'm less likely to touch the screen when pushing buttons. I coupled the radio with an Alpine KTA-450, 4 ch amp. The installer really liked the radio. I will be buying the same radio soon for a second vehicle.

Enjoy using this radio

What I like about this radio is the apple CarPlay feature and ease of use. I don’t like how there is not a feature to adjust the microphone level. When I first called someone on this radio through Apple CarPlay, they said they could barely hear me. And when I try to reply to messages, it doesn’t hear me. (This is with the car off and the A/C not running.) but, in all, I enjoy having a radio with Apple CarPlay.

great look and easy to set up

install was pretty simple. did have a small issue with the amp remote not supplying enough current and giving an "Amp overload" fault on the display. Simple fix was to use the ACC from the vehicle to power on the Amp overall pleased with the operation, look and installation process

So far a great unit

Installed the Alpine headunit on a 2018 Toyota Corolla. Paired this unit with an Alpine KTP-445 amp to power my JBL GTO 6.5" components in the front and JBL GTO 6x9 in the back. The image quality is nice and bright. My the only issue I have with it is the warning label when backing up "Never Depend Soley on Camera". This warning stays on the entire time while in reverse and it blocks a good portion of the top screen.

Exactly what I was looking for

Well I was in the market for a double din stereo for my 2002 Mazda Miata fit perfectly with the Merta installation kit ….its nice and modern works with our iPhone via cable , the Bluetooth is hard to connect to my phone but eventually it works.. 17watts rms is kinda weak but glad there is a power pack option so I’ll definitely be looking into it, for now I have it paired with 2x 6.5” skar audio 2wat and 2x skar audio tweeters sound great
