Great sub BUT!

This was my first subwoofer ever to be installed in my car and HOLY CRAP with an american bass 1250watt rms amp this thing ROCKED. My hair was literally vibrating off my head. But then the break in time hit me, and then it was too late, I had the gain up too high on the amp after I had just got it and after an hour of cruising down town, I blew the sub. It now makes an awful rattling noise when turned up. I ordered another one(theyre just that good, the bass shakes everything), this time I'll let it break in and keep the gain down from max + bass boost. My rookie mistake and an expensive one. I'm not going to take any stars away as my amp is higher than its max rms and I shouldn't have gone all out the day I got it, but lesson learned, the bass hits so slow and people can hear me coming from all the way down the street.

All about the bass.

This sub hits hard and deep. If you want that shallow and quick bass look elsewhere because this thing wants that battery draining bass that hits you in the chest. I have 1 of these hooked up to a kenwood mono amp running 1000w rms at 2 omhs in my 2015 lancer and I can't even have the bass setting at 0 when the bass boost on the amp is at 2, not even 5.

I Would recommend this sub for large cars and suvs because more Space to push air and a bigger battery to handle the power.

BRUTAL!

I bought this sub about a week ago, made a 4.5 cube box at 30 hz, paired it with a ppi ba2600.1d, gain is at about 20% for break in, and this thing POUNDS! Trunklid, roof and windshield in my neon flex HARD! Turn it back a bit and its nice and tight with fantastic sq. This is the last sub id ever need, if i blow it up, im getting another!

Best Bang for your Buck!!

HOLY CRAP this Sub is a BEAST!!! I replaced my DB Drive K9's and the XFL's trumped them in everyway! I recommend these over a lot of the more expensive brands!!

Great Value

First of all, I would like to start off by stating that I have owned several subwoofers in my time. I've owned a cerwin vega 12" in the late 90's, an alpine swr-t12 shallow mount, a JL audio w6. A 15" kicker solobaric L5. A kicker 12"CVX, a polk audio 12"(best buy...smh) and most recently 2 10" skar audio shallow mount vd series. The reason I am stating all of these different brands is to have a little frame of reference for anyone reading this. When I try to compare this American Bass to these subs, i can easily say that this sub out performs all of these subs. I have this speaker in a 4.5 cu in spl box with the port on the side. After taxes I paid less than $220.00 and I was able to find the box on ebay for $115.00. I have this hooked up to a skar audio 1500.1D amp, and this thing pounds. I have only played it for about a half an hour and I am fighting every urge to crank this thing up before it has loosened up. But already it hits harder than any other sub I've owned previously. The build quality was decent, and I must say i was a little thrown when I saw that it lacked spring terminals for the sub. However it had 10ga speaker wire already ran to each coil, which was pretty cool. Looking at the size of the speaker wire tells me this thing demands a lot of power. When I first opened it up, I noticed how beefy this sub is. I can not imagine how much better it will sound once it has completely burned in and loosened up. I guess what I am trying to say is that for less than the price for a 10" JL Audio W6($500.00) or any of the 2 kickers, or alpine shallow mount($600.00), You will be able to buy this 15" sub and a box with $ left over. I was a little skeptical about this sub just from the price, but i can surely say that this sub will perform! The only other subs I can compare this one to are the 2 skar audios. Those sound great for their price, they just don't have that earth shaking spl that I like. As for sound quality, I can say it hits hard and deep. This subs and box was purchased to produce that deep boomy bass, and it does. For the price, I am impressed so far as to how this this sounds and performs. I would definitely recommend this sub for anyone looking for a budget build. You would be surprised!

Excellent sub!

This sub is great. I have it hooked to a 500w RMS amp for now and it hit so hard it ripped an obcon box to shreds. I would definitely recommend this speaker!!!!

great sub 4 the $$$

Broke it in on 1100watts then ran it on clean 3500watts rms for a few days in my house and it can take the power! The sub hardly got warm and NO bandaid smell ever!!! Now its in a truck getting 2k daily in a 4.6cuft box tuned at 33hz. So far it has performed flawlessly, highly recommend. Ive been shopping with Sonic Electronix for years and always get great service at a fair price.

RIDICULOUS SUB!!

I had 3 Memphis 15s on a SSL 4000 for two of them and another SSL 15 for the other 15. I just installed this sub to the 4k and took the other subs out and this thing is 5 times louder by itself extremely happy with this sub. Plan on getting 7 more
