The DEI 520T battery back up is Good you have to know how it works I have installed over 200 of them in the past year with all car alarms code-Alarm and VIPER the best alarms to use is the DEI VIPER alarms as there is no feedback on the remote start wires like code-Alarms the only thing I don't like is DEI recommend only the alarm unit itself only on the Gray wire of the 520t this unit will only put out 15 to 20MA max after that it will drop the output below 12v on the Gray wire power output wire for the alarm and drop the output power on the red battery wire this is why the 12v batter back up will go dead after any ware from 1 to 3 mounts any accessories like 509u 508d or the DEI tilt sensor and dei relays is over the current limitations of DEI.

SOLUTION to this problem I have found that you run a fuse wire from the car battery to the Red back up battery this will be your solution to this the back up battery and the Gray wire will match the output power of the car battery and when the car is running will max out at 13.9 to 14.5v also you can now upgrade from the BS 12v .08AMP battery to a 12v 1.5AMP or even an alarm battery 12v 4.5AMP the car battery will charge it.

Installed and seems to work fine. Messes with virtual tach on the Clifford 50.7x. Had to hard wire in the tach as it was not sensing the car was started. Other than that everything seems to be great. It was easy to install. Make sure you use diodes on the triggers when sharing common trigger inputs. Thanks again Sonic. Another great purchase.

Add this feature to your car.

I have a 1994 Nissan altima SE which did not come with a trunk release option. Upon installing my Viper 791XV i also purchased this unit. It is very easy to install and offers an included button for releasing from inside the car. This is a must buy if your car does not have a trunk release option.

Good investment

If you have a DEI alarm you need this add-on. If a thieve wanted to make your alarm useless, all he needs to do is disconnect your battery. This add-on makes this impossible. If your battery is disconnected the alarm still work and also will be triggered.

Very Good Product

I recommend this for all. I find it very useful and easy to install. All you need is a place to mount in trunk or hatch near latch.

Great!

I installed it on a 2001 Toyota Camry CE. The pull is very strong and opens the trunk easily. I think you have to be careful where you install it. Try to have it pull straight and pull on the easiest to move lever (for me that was the smallest lever in the series of 3 levers that opens my trunk).

The cable end was frayed and I had to cut it with tin snips before I could use the screw that attaches the end of the cable to main part to form a loop to hook around the lever.

The kit comes with a good amount of 18 gauge wire, but it wasn't long enough for me to go all the way from under the steering wheel to the trunk. You will need extra wire, butt splices, and something to protect the wire to do this.

The kit has a couple of options for the mounting bracket. You will have to experiment and perhaps drill holes in the interior trunk lid. I was able to connect mine to existing holes that are for the interior lining fabric. The solenoid is about 3 inches in diameter and 5 inches long, so it's bulky and you have to find a good place for it.

Definitely requires some ingenuity and mechanical and electrical system knowledge. But an effective product at a reasonable price.
Have only had it for a week so I can't comment on durability and the life of the solenoid.

Great accessory

I have a 1997 Ford Mustang and did not came with a trunk release feature. Every time I cross the border I have to open the trunk so, before I bought the Directed 522T I had to turn off the engine and open the trunk with my key. The job it´s a lot easier now that I add it to my Viper 350 Plus, that I also got here.

Works Great

Bought this to go along with the Crimestopper sp-202 security alarm/ remote unlock kit that I was going to install on my 92' grand am. The solenoid came with lots of extra parts that i didn't end up needing. Was sort of a hassle to install but mainly the fault of my car because of the way my factory trunk release is designed. Had to drill a little hole for the solenoids wire to run through so it could pull on the trunk release mechanism. One tip for others when installing is to keep the wire taut and to have little to no slack otherwise the solenoid won't be able to pull the lever to open the trunk. Great product overall though

This is a really good optional accessory for the Directed made car alarm system. I recommend this product.

Trunk Release

My professional installer suggested ill buy one of these things to have my alarm remotely pop the trunk on my 95 civic. I paid a third of what the local shop was asking for, it arrived very quickly, and it worked like a charm. I am very happy with my purchase and will most def be visiting this website again.

Weak Pull

This solenoid has very weak pulling power. As others on the internet have come to find out even if you find that sweet spot to where you actually get this thing to pop your trunk its never 100%. Unfortunately my car does not even have this sweet spot as if I get it to pop, my lock will not latch properly and if I get my lock to latch, the solenoid is just too weak to pull it. Do yourself a favor and research this trunk solenoid some more and spend the extra 10 bucks for a 35-40 pound solenoid.

Works well, plenty of pull power

I used this solenoid to retrofit a remote trunk opener for my 2001 Corolla.
Works well, very powerful pull. I would recommend it. It's important to use at least 14awg wire to supply power to the unit as it drawn upwards of 10A.

Excellent product!

I personally did not install this, had local shop do it took them about an hour. The price is great, quality is good, no longer have to crank windows up or down. It's been a little over five years since I had them installed & still works great.

the install in a triumph spitfire was good no problem and easy, instruction were ok, which was mostly pictures, the only problem I had and have is that there were no instruction for the wiring. notified people of problem and was instructed to notify the makers of products, but other then that great product to have power windows

the install is really easy but the quality of the product is not that good they have been in the car for only 1 month and the switch to roll it up and down is broken and the gauge wire they use is to small to carry the volts needed to roll up the passenger window from the driver side switch but what do expect for something that only cost sixty odd dollars like they say you get what you pay for and this is not worth buying

Absolute HW 600 Power Window Installation Kit

I installed the power window installation kit late fall. I found it was easy to install, but because of the winter I haven't had much opportunity to use it. Now that the spring has finally arrived I have had been using it without any problems. Works well. The one con I find is that the passenger window is slower than the one on the drivers side.

Great Product that works!

The Absolute SHW600 Power Window kit represents a great value. It appears to be well built and was easy to install. The range of gear options included my obscure application ('69 Alfa Romeo) so I would guess that they cover quite a range of cars. My only complaint is that there should be extra metal legs. ran out of the necessary number to mount them the way I wanted. Kit includes rubber isolators with ferules which is nice.

I have had them installed from hot summer to the start of cold winter and so far so good. Easy to recommend...

Absolute HW600 install

Works great after you finally get it installed. Directions are about useless. I'm still not certain if there is a left and right or if it doesn't matter which side you put them on. Found myself second guessing myself on which adapters and crank hole covers to use with no explanation on which depth to use. Electric is self explanatory and easy to do. Works and looks good now that its done. If you are experienced with auto electrics and fabrication you can do it after some planning.

Good for the price

This power window kit is a good kit for any two door vehicle. Just make sure your windows are in good working order before you start the installation. Also, if you never installed a power window kit before I would not recommend trying to install this one alone. But if you are pretty handy and know your way around car electronics then you will be OK. The instructions that come with the kit are horrible. They don't tell you anything about the wiring. Luck fully it comes with prewired harness so it was not that hard to figure out. Make sure that you use the rubber inserts when mounting the drive gear assembly. By doing this it will allows the gears to have a little play and prevent them from binding during operation. Over all a good kit!

glass break senor GAS200

I have been using this product for about 4 years now..With good results it does the job protecting the windows it even picks up a slim jim, a shock sensor can't do that.. Make sure you add one to any alarm system.. because a shock sensor can't pick up a center punch or a steel marble shot from a sling shot that can break glass without a jolt....But a glass break sensor will..Make it a part and you wont become a smash and grab victim...

Great cheap alarm + remote start

Bought this when it was a deal of the day then installed it in my mother 2006 CRV works perfect as a simple alarm and remote start comes with siren and shock sensor. Instructions leave a little to be desired i had to call compustar to question how to wire the anti-grind relay that came pre-wired because instructions dont mention anything about it but all i had to do was cut the ignition wire other than that every went smooth the remotes are tiny and work really good with decent range would highly recomment over other cheaper models because this is simply a rebranded compustar unit.
