Good for Starters.

This subwoofer is great for a starter system, it's 15 inch, 500 watts rms, and has good sound quality. But... if you want to turn it up and let it pound it will wear out, very fast. But hey, like it says: "Natural sound" it's made to sound good, not loud. If you play it hard the voice coil will burn out.

Good Subs, not so good for loudness

I ordered 2 of these subs from Sonic, no issues or anything as far as shipping, great quality product. I had these subs wired to a Power Acoustik Bamf 4000 watt amp, so it was only pushing around 1700 rms at most. These subs sounded great and were really loud in my explorer, but after only a month one of my subs voice coil melted and froze. This was mainly my fault for overpowering them, but I had an audiobahn aq 12 that was taking the same amount of power these 15's were and it never blew/froze. But as long as you keep them at their limit of 500-600 rms a piece, they should last you awhile. And they are great subs for their price to.

Never Fails

Audiobahn never fails at being one of the best. This subwoofer puts out the Lows like you wouldn't believe. It's very durable and powerful. You can play this thing forever without any problems. Great product.

Audiobahn AW1571T

Good sub, broke in for like 2 weeks then turned up my 450 Alpine amp and it pounds better then my Rockford 12's nice lows.

Hits pretty darn good...

My friend has 2 of this hooked up to an alpine amp and it hits pretty good. His only problem is he made his own box and its not well built, but even with this fact it still has a lot of bass. Overall it can put out a lot of bass for a cheap price.

Disappointment at it's worst

I purchased this woofer from friends with older Audiobahn products but was let down when I played this woofer for 2 reasons. The loudness and the durability. After warming up the sub (it is cold where I live) I played the sub at 300 rms watts and didn't want to push it hard enough to blow it and older Audiobahn products are great spl subs, this woofer is weak for a 15" sub. It was lacking in spl and sq so I tried playing some more lower bass to see how it did at subsonic frequencies. it started smoking like a chimney. I took it apart to see the quality of the parts they use. The voice coils are very thin and not well spun.

Overal Im very displeased. I'm going back to hifonics. I have worked on many brands and hifonics uses top of the line pieces and is comparable to kicker and JL when it comes to quality If it ain't made in the USA, don't bother. Hifonics 9/10, Audiobahn 4/10.

Pretty good

Sounds pretty decent but kind of sloppy. But not that bad. Great for the price.

great sub

These subs are some of best subs i have owned. Out of all of them, these put out the lows like you you wouldn't believe. i have mine at 600 rms per sub and them take it like a champ, and sound great in my ext cab pick up. i would recommend these to anyone that wants deep loud bass for a great price. Great product!

Works well in DJ setup

I wanted a solid 15" dual voice coil sub, but at a decent price, Picked this up from Sonic for less than $100 and use it once or twice a year in a custom built ported cabinet as part of a DJ type music setup at local fundraising events. It provides the bottom for a setup that employs a Kustom PA system for the midrange and tweeter spectrums. The Audiobahn is separately driven by a Soundcraftsmen PCR800 power amp.

If you're not familiar with that brand, they were a (now long gone) California based high end Hi-Fi producer who were famous for their production approach: every amp was built by hand to true military grade specs and each one was individually bench tested before packing and shipping.

Those hand-written specs on the inside cover of the owners manual that came with my now 32-year old PCR800 are 201 watts RMS per channel before clipping - and we are talking solid, serious AC-powered MOFSET watts, not grossly overrated DC car amp watts. The Audiobahn provides amazing bass when driven by that beefy American-made amp!!!

fast shipping

This sub was not a good buy. I was very sad to say because Audiobahn used to make good stuff. After the buy the subs were blowned in a matter of an hour and they were powered with the correct rms too. It was said i will never buy this sub again. But thank you sonicelectronics for the fast shipping!

Good/Bad

Set up this subwoofer with a Alpine MRP M500 @ 2OHMs pushing 500w. I had the sub boost all the way up. It hit pretty nice, almost like my Alpine Type R 12" and MRD M605 that was stolen last year. But then I started getting a cut on/off bass problem. I turned down the bass thinking it might of been the AMP going out. It seemed to remedy the issue for a week, but then it got worse and quit working all together. I turned the bass boost back up to see if that would fix it, sure enough, it was working good and pushing strong. Two days later I got the nasty stench of burning electronics and I could smell it coming from the port on the sub box. Not a huge loss if i'm out on this thing. Just wish it lasted longer.
