Bottom Line Is That You Get What You Pay For. Read This Before Buying

I bought this boyo head unit because it was one of the cheaper double din touch screens on the market. Basically i "cheeped out". I suggest you spend the extra cash an get the higher end brands such as jvc, sony, alpine ect. Here are some reasons why.
The radio reception is very poor. While driving listening to local fm radio stations witch came in clear on my stock head unit, this boyo unit has a rediculous amount of static. Note: i bought the proper antenna adaptor from sonic electronix that was recommended by them
When you put in a cd/mp3 cd, the screen that comes up is very ugly looking and uneasy to navigate. What i mean buy ugly is that it says boyo is large letters with warning information witch is unable to change an stays on for the full duration while listening to you music through cd/mp3 cds. Witch i feel is an eyes sore to my car, and people have also told me the same.
A few more cons...
-The volume buttons on the very bottom of the deck dont respond very well when pressing them.
-The build in equalizer is as good as garbage.
-Although it dose pop up an show you the equalizer when you select it in the menu, it wont actually let you change your bass or treble levels. It only gives you the options of loud treble or low treble & loud bass or low bass? Front and back left to right balance options. Witch i find really un useful.
-When you plus in your ipod, the menus are hard to navigate and respond very slowly. Once you select a certain artists it wont allow you to return back the artist list to select a different artistic so you have to unplug the ipod and do it that way.
I could go on forever about the little thing that i dont like about the boyo unit & different things that dont work properly with this this but im not.

Heres a few pros:

-The price. I d way rather spend $200 bucks on a low quality double din touch screen tv deck then i would spend $200 on a alpine (example) single din or something of that price an nature.
-The dvd picture quality seem fairly decent.
-The units appearance its self is decently designed.

Would i recommend this to another buyer? Yes & no

Yes if your just looking for an upgrade from your stock deck and dont want to spend to much, and are not expecting a hole lot out of this unit other then that its plays cd and dvds decently.

No if your looking for something to run your ipod, plan on running an amp or listen to the radio.

Bottom line is that you get what you pay for and you could probably tell by the price, thats not much.

No disrespect to sonic electronix because they are a great site
It's just this low quality product.. Spend the extra few hundred bucks and order a JVC, Sony or Alpine unit off Sonic Electronix. I wish i would have.

Wouldn't recommend

First off it does not transfer your contacts to it, or display the name of the incoming caller, just the number. The SD Slot isn't hard to use, but it gets annoying after awhile. The look of the unit was horrible. Just didn't look like a quality lay out. Didn't charge iPhone, and the interface is hard to navigate. The Bluetooth didn't do anything it said it did accept call people. It did stream audio, but u could only control it with the phone or the remote, and it did not display anything about music on the unit, just a dial pad. The radio doesn't display the name of the station. And there is a bunch of static at all times no matter what source you are listening to, cd etc.

The system setup was horrible too. Can't do anything about the way it looks really, just dim it. There was literally almost no settings that you can change in there. Oh and the clock only shows on the radio screen, in the corner, no other screen at all.

Just shy of nice

They said double din however its slightly bigger than that so I had to pay extra to have it custom mounted. The screen also doesn't work at times either unless you press the screen really hard.

not happy

The radio did not fit my 2003 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner. I had to file the dash area around the radio to make it fit and the plastic piece that came with the radio to cover the radio box does not fit. Attempted to play a DVD and it has sound only. When the motorized face opens it hits the gear shift!!! I have to be in gear to open it enough to put in CD or DVD. Instruction book could have used some english proofing for sure. Boyo customer support stated only one person speaks enough english to help and they never called back.

IPOD/IPHONE connection works but display screen is purple and yellow and very bright.
The IPOD/IPHONE connection does not charge the IPHONE.

I have only had time to mess with it a little but does not seem that great. I will modify this if i get it working but the fit issue is HUGE.

Perfect fit in my 2008 Nissan Altima coupe. I just had to do a super good radio. I recommend it. The remote control is fantastic.

Good value but has problems!

Ok well to start I do like the radio. I had it in another car and just had to get it again. great radio for the price tho, I'm having a reception problem the factory radio that was in before had better reception, and it was Professionally installed. But the biggest problem is the Bluetooth with the radio it's hard for them to here you. I guess you get what you pay for tho.
