Great Price!
Wanted to add GPS to my Camry without removing the factory head unit with built in display. The Toyota Dealer wanted 2K to put in the factory system, pretty much same System that was in there just had a GPS option. Wanted to kee it all stock looking so was not into and aftermarket solution although there were some nice head units out there by Alpine and Kenwood for around $800 to $1000. Looked at some of the rear view mirrors out there with GPS most were made and sold out of China. They came bundled with a bunch of unnecessary options, clipped on to the original mirror and offered only a 4" display. When I came across the VTG50 it had a 5" display and a mounting bracket which made removing the old mirror and installing the VTG50 look like a factory add on. The GPS function works great and it uses NavTech Maps. Priced at $229 was a steal. Other options include backup camera connection and a few useful apps and games. I purchased this unit strictly for the GPS feature my Camry is already equipped with a backup camera some of the apps and features are great but I haven't really used any of them to comment. It has a manual on off button so you can turn the GPS off if you're not using it. Also has a display for the compass and the temperature which alternate every five seconds. Mirror is slightly tinted so it isn't as bright as the factory but after a few days you get used to it. Installation was simple used factory mounting bracket and ran the wires underneath the headliner and down the side post into the dashboard. Mirror looks stock and with the GPS switched off looks like an ordinary rearview mirror.
