it's alright

The following review is for a previous version (VTL300C).

i bought this for my ford f350 diesel. it was to hard to install even though the wires that come with the kit were no where near long enough. the major downfalls are the wires themselves.....they are way to thin and poorly isolated. it was like soldering one strand of hair, but i got it done. the next problem is that there is a lot of interference on the screen when the truck is running. if the truck is off it's a clear picture. i called the company and they said to install a noise filter. but, after researching online further, it seems others have had the same problem and tried the noise filter and it didn't do anything... I'm going to live with it the way it is.... it's good enough to help me back up. if i had to do it again, i would try a different product. even if it is a little bit more money.

Reasonably Rad!

The following review is for a previous version (VTL300C).

Fits great on my 09 mazda 6. backup camera when you need it, license plate when you don't. Loved the fact it's made of steel and not a cheap plastic. Camera gives good coverage and definition (through a Pio AVIC 710). night time is a little lacking though. Even with the camera automatically switching to B/W, viewing distance is about 10 feet at best on dark AK nights. The plates do rattle a bit after the subs hit higher than 120 Db.(rear firing) So a bit of sound deadening is in order if you have a bigger sound system.

Good value

The video quality is good. I like the distance lines and found out by accident that they can be turned on/ff via a switch on the cable. Reverse image, and backup lights can also be turned on/off this way. The first one I received worked well for about 1 week then the video went out. had installer double check all connections and power. All connections and power still good but no video. Item replaced by sonic without problem. The new unit had a different cable style and installed with out problem and has been working fine for several weeks. Only complaint is the VERY tiny allen screw used to tighten the camera adjustment. I could not get this to tighten enough to keep camera from slowing migrating it's view angle.

Great Value

The following review is for a previous version (VTL300C).

First time I've installed one of these units and they work great. I had to fiddle around with getting it mounted on the license plate (BMWX5). The unit has been installed for 6mos now and no complaints.

Camera works fine

The following review is for a previous version (VTL300C).

Purchased and had the camera installed on 07 Honda Ridgeline. Able to see directly behind me but need to rely on side view mirrors as well.

Great!

The following review is for a previous version (VTL300).

I bought this 6 months ago and it is still performing great, even through the New England winter we just had. I had to reverse the bracket and file down some metal (not hard at all) to get the correct angle of viewing for my Kia Sedona.

Great Camera

The following review is for a previous version (VTL300).

I am really happy with the Boyo Vision BTL300. I didn't want to mount a back up camera that was noticable. The camera blends in and the clarity is wonderful. It is amazing the night ision looks like it's daytime outside. Would highly recomend this camera.
