Awesome speakers for the money

These speakers sound amazing for $50 I'd recommend these ... They sound 100 percent better in an enclosure I mounted them into 6" tubes sounds great.

Sound great!

Ordered these for the price not knowing what to expect but they sound great! I bought two sets for front and rear of my boat and I’m very happy with my purchase.

Excelent Help and Service

Great customer service and products. Ordered one set of speakers but noticed they didn't ship the next day so I called and found out they had to drop ship. I canceled the order and ordered different speakers with no issue. Second set showed up quickly but I didn't need. Requested RMA with no issue. Purchased shipping through Sonic with no issue. Returned them. Great information and service and I will be using them again and referring others to do the same.

Incredible Bang for Buck

Got these to do a budget audio system build for a 1998 Worldcat 246. All in my system including amps, speakers, subwoofer, sub-box, tinned marine wire, connectors, and other parts was under $2000. For an equivalent JL Audio Build it would have been well over 5 grand in just components. I self installed all of these components to save myself some money.

For these 6.5 inch Belva Speakers, I have them sourced from a low end JBL Digital marine headunit using the 4 RCA pre-outs. I have these speakers amplified off of a Skar Audio RP 150.4 ABM 4 channel marine amp. Right now I have 6 total speakers, with plans for adding another pair for 8 total speakers in the future. I wire 2 speakers per channel on the amplifier so the final load is 2 OHMs and they share 250 watts of RMS power in total x4. This allowed me to just use one amp instead 2 4 channel amps for 8 speakers. At full volume and 50% gain at the amp, these things get LOUD.

The mid-bass is decent but not insane. A lot of that can be cured by tuning your amp and source inputs. I have my crossover's set pretty aggressively to cut the low end from these speakers to preserve their longevity and have them focus more on the mid and high frequencies. I got a sub to handle the low end, I don't want my coaxial speakers doing that.

The mid-range and high frequencies are very solid. Granted I am not an audiophile, but the environment that you will be listening to these in won't be super conducive to perfect acoustics with wind, motor, and other noises so expecting any marine system to sound like your home theater is a heavy, expensive, and difficult ask. What these do excel in is cutting through the wind-noise. These seem to handle rated power and more with ease, so the amplifier gets the volume and clarity to perfectly audible levels for everyone on the boat at any speed and any condition. Cranking it all the way up will get so loud it's uncomfortable after a while (again only at 50% gain, my headunit doesn't appear to send a clipped signal at any source input volume level.)

Durability is still out for verdict. But after a month of pretty consistent use in the Florida heat, sun, and salt-water I haven't noticed any rust or dry rotting. Be sure to wash them off with fresh water after every use to help prevent these problems. However at this price point, I would be completely satisfied if these only lasted 1-2 years. I could replace all of the speakers on my boat for close to the same price as one pair of JL or Wet Sounds Speakers.

My only real complaint with these is the fact that they seem to have a non-standard sizing strategy. The outer diameter of the speaker housing is 7.5 inches on these, so if you want to find a speaker cover for them, it is more difficult. Yet for the 8 inch speakers they sell, the outer diameter of the housing is 8", very confusing.

Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and will be purchasing again in the future when the speakers on our bay boat go out and need to be replaced.
