the mat works well, seems to be made of cellulose foam so compresses well and since they are air tight, makes the speaker sound crisp. One advantage of the type of foam is they are very well insulators thus they should help to keep the speakers the temperature of the inside of the car (for auto door mount speakers.) fit well and control vibration so a good thing to have.
