Good for the money

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

For the price its a good dvd headunit... the screen isnt too small its very flexible when it comes to ins and outs only problem i had with the unit is it cuts off the first second or two of songs and the EQ of the unit isnt great making the sound from the unit sound thin... other than that its a nice unit... id give it a 7 out of 10

Good for Price

All in All it is good for the price.

Pros:
Everything seems to work, USB works, AUX, and you can play DVDs while driving. Nothing spectacular, but will get the job done. Nice look to the car.

Cons:
Cant change backgrounds, Slow USB loading times(may be my USB thumb drive however). Cant see a progress while fast forwarding or rewinding, you have to take a guess. Touchscreen sometimes hard to use since the screen is small.

Great Head Unit

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

I bought this item because I wanted a touchscreen DVD Player with a good security feature and this one gets the Job done... I love how this has a detachable faceplate.. Its pretty simple to use... only negative thing is the remote is a bit thin... I could snap the thing in half with one hand if i wanted to... but couldn't get much better for the price...

ok value

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

This is a good product for those new to the touch screen in dash receivers and description fits it well. I prefer something iPod ready and is compatible for more formats.

Don't know yet

Seems like a good unit but I'm still waiting on speakers I ordered.. When you use USB or aux input the whole screen lights up blue and gives you a warning that you can't watch video while the car is on. I guess you can watch movies if you turn the key to accessory but it's installed in my Nissan Skyline which doesn't have an accessory like most US cars. As long as it sounds good later on I'd give this a solid 8/10 for the price.

Works Great

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

Love this system didn't think it would that good but it was great.
The only little prob that people might have takes time to load up movies and mp3. Doesn't bother me though.

Besides that you shouldn't have any problem with it at all.

i love it the kids love it enough said

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

I love this product not just because of the price but it looks and sounds great. My kids love watching movies on road trips and if they can stay quiet for six to eight hours im cool. But there is one thing i hate when the mode is on radio is great but when its on dvd or aux in front or rear its not so good but i would and i have recommended this product.

Nice system

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

Good stereo system thats loaded with features, for the price. Obviously its not perfect. My only genuine complaints are few, and the first concerns a very random and sporadic glitch. Sometimes after turning on the car, the touchscreen either wont load properly, or doesn't respond to touch as it should. This happens very rarely, but it does happen. Simply turnng off the unit, and then back on, clears this up.
Complaint #2 regards the way the removable face comes off. There is a small ledge that the face has to clear in order to pop off, and its a tight fit. Its never gotten stuck, but it could have been engineered a little better.
And 3rd, when playing off an external media supply (i.e. ipod) you get a blue screen. No scrolling text, or screen saver, just a bright blue screen. More of an annoyance really.
And lastly, when the signal of a station isn't optimal, the volume is greatly reduced, at least more so than in any other system i've listened to. So while driving, the volume gets louder and quieter, again, more of an annoyance.
But to be fair, it does have pretty cool graphics, a very easy to use interface and menu, and you can plug and play just about anything into it. It has a very high end look, feel, and function to it, that most other units twice the price cant match. It has its quirks, but the sound is good, and it is a pretty good bang for the buck. I would buy this all over again, and recomend it to my friends.

Think Twice

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

Unit is garbage, the universal brackets are horrible i had to cut them and remold them myself, i wired the head unit exactly as stated and it has alot of glitches on first start up. the ipod hook up doesnt work, and the video display does not work. overall. dont go for the cheap unit, i bought this for my girlfriend... i'm lucky i still have her after this garbage. wish i could give zero stars

Economy Deck

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

I purchased the Boss BV9150 knowing it wasn't a high end product. I thought it would be good enough though. I love the looks of the deck, and installation was easy. Some of the things that I don't like about it is the fact that it doesn't always want to eject the cd when you push the eject button. Sometimes it takes 3-4 trys to get the cd out. It doesn't play DVDs all the time either. Some work, some don't and the ones that do it takes a while to load. Changing the screen to nighttime is a hassle. If you are listening to a MP3 with the usb drive you have to exit that and go into the CD mode then settings in order to dim at night. This is a huge hassle! Also there is no optional background when playing cds, it's not very customizable at all. Overall if I had to buy it again I would choose a better quality product and would pass on this one.

My Boss BV9150

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

The product for its price is good, the radio signal reception AM, FM is a bit poor, the system will DVD / CD is not resistant to heavy use since this failed, the other video and audio inputs work perfectly such as SD card, the front and rear AV inputs and remote control

HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS NOW

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

Got this as a gift for Father's Day 2011. Installed just fine, no problems. Used touchscreen with wet fingers and there was a line permanently across the top of the screen for a few months. One day it went away (Thank Goodness) and it has been fine ever since. We have plugged and played everything possible into this unit with no problems.

The only thing I do not like it the boring blue screen when it is on anything except RADIO or DVD. Wish there was a way we could install our own screen saver or pic.

Was not disappointed

The following review is for a previous version (BV9150).

This radio works really good, I installed it in my 02 sequoia, and was not disappointed a bit. I would definitely recommend this radio. Cheap and worth every penny.
