It works!
Ordinarily, I wouldn't buy one of the cheapest amps available, though this one is all I really needed.
I paired this with a low quality 12" VR3 sub my friend gave me and a cheap box bought off eBay - and it actually sounds good!
Seriously, 50W is more than enough for a sub...it blends perfectly in my '72 Karmann Ghia and also in my Jeep Cherokee. Granted, I have to turn it up just a little bit more in the Jeep, but there's still plenty of headroom for more bump before getting obnoxious.
With that said, I highly recommend lower wattages with subwoofers...there's absolutely no reason to have a 500W amp in such a confined space as an automobile.
*Admin Note: Under powering a subwoofer too much will warp the voice coil and blow the subwoofer. We always recommend you match the RMS powers of the sub and amp together.*
