Great sound

The sound on these speakers is amazing, not much bass comming out of them but what do you expect with 6x8's its crisp and clear on my ford ranger. Great speakers by far.

nice clean mellow speakers

I like the Boston Acoustic sound. Clean, balanced, full range, and not too harsh. A huge upgrade from the Ford paper cones in my motorhome.

better than factory door speakers

I bought a set of these boston door speakers and had them installed in my 2000 ford ranger xlt xcab (4-door) and they sound a whole let better than my factory door speakers. They also sound really nice with the aftermarket Alpine CDE-125BT thats in my ranger.

Nice Upgrade

Just installed 4 in my 2011 Ranger Sport. Big difference between these and the stock speakers. Much deeper bass and better highs. I am still running the stock head unit but still a bog improvement. Great speaker for the price!!

Good speaker

I installed these in my Mazda 3 sedan last night.
The install took me about 30 minutes as I have done this many times. I was looking to simplify my soundstage by replacing the Pioneer 4 way 6x8's with these SE85's.

I already have Polk DB tweeters in the kick pannels so I thought the 4 ways might be a bit much for my front sound stage. I am using a kenwood kac-8402 to run my highs and I have an Infinity reference 611a paired up to two 12" JVC Aresenals. The Polk Tweeters and SE85's are wired in parralel sharing 90 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. I have my HPF set at 70 hz on my Kenwood amp LPF on the infinity set to around 80-90 HZ.

At lower volumes the Bostons are stellar but they don't handle the power as well as my old Pioneers (50w RMS 240 max) nor do they hit as hard for midbass. Maybe they just need to broken in, but I doubt it. The SE85's are rather lightweight with a smaller magnet when compared to my Pioneer 4 ways.

Overall great sound but not as potent as a high power rating speaker in midrange frequency's.

Good Value

I bought Boston Acoustics SE85 and Kenwood KFC-C5793PS. The Boston speakers had better bass sound and overall better sound then the Kenwood speakers.
