If you have the premium sound factory system, this is NOT the wiring kit you want. You need one that runs down to the amp, where you can THEN plug into the factory speaker wiring.

Metra 98-8999 - Subaru Impreza WRX dash pocket

I bought this dash pocket about 6 months ago and love it. I bought it to go below my jvc headunit which I also purchased from sonic electronix. The two work great together. The fit is tight, not loose, the plastic is strong unlike other kits, and fits great. The pocket has slots for cds in there, however i use it to hold my ipod and wallet. Great product and recommend to all.

Awesome pocket

This pocket works great for putting your remote in and your iPod. You don't really need it as i remember, but it is very useful.

Simple wiring and plug and play....everything is colored coded and labeled..

Really confusing instructions. Ended up not even using it.
Didn't need it though it turned out but if I could have figured it out and needed it it would have been fine probably. It was the right dimensions for my car

Mounting box

This product was unnecessary when mounting a Kenwood KDC-108 into a Subaru 2000 Legacy Outback auto.

Metra 98-8999 Review

I like this dash kit tremendously. The install was fairly simple, the directions showed me everything I needed to do to install this dash kit in my vehicle. It took a little while for me to get everything all lined up correctly as this kit is designed for multiple applications, but that was all part of the fun of doing the installation myself. The one thing that I did notice is that once I inserted the Subaru trim plate onto the front of the pocket, one of the plastic tabs did break, causing the trim plate to not hold completely, but not a problem at all as I checked the area numerous times and it should hold correctly.

Awesome product. Had a little bit of an issue installing it but that was a mixture of human error and sub par instructions. All in all it worked well for my 96 Subaru Legacy GT and my head unit fits in nice and snug. Plus I have a little cubby hole now.
