The DEI 520T battery back up is Good you have to know how it works I have installed over 200 of them in the past year with all car alarms code-Alarm and VIPER the best alarms to use is the DEI VIPER alarms as there is no feedback on the remote start wires like code-Alarms the only thing I don't like is DEI recommend only the alarm unit itself only on the Gray wire of the 520t this unit will only put out 15 to 20MA max after that it will drop the output below 12v on the Gray wire power output wire for the alarm and drop the output power on the red battery wire this is why the 12v batter back up will go dead after any ware from 1 to 3 mounts any accessories like 509u 508d or the DEI tilt sensor and dei relays is over the current limitations of DEI.

SOLUTION to this problem I have found that you run a fuse wire from the car battery to the Red back up battery this will be your solution to this the back up battery and the Gray wire will match the output power of the car battery and when the car is running will max out at 13.9 to 14.5v also you can now upgrade from the BS 12v .08AMP battery to a 12v 1.5AMP or even an alarm battery 12v 4.5AMP the car battery will charge it.

so far so good

Installed and seems to work fine. Messes with virtual tach on the Clifford 50.7x. Had to hard wire in the tach as it was not sensing the car was started. Other than that everything seems to be great. It was easy to install. Make sure you use diodes on the triggers when sharing common trigger inputs. Thanks again Sonic. Another great purchase.

Good investment

If you have a DEI alarm you need this add-on. If a thieve wanted to make your alarm useless, all he needs to do is disconnect your battery. This add-on makes this impossible. If your battery is disconnected the alarm still work and also will be triggered.

DEI 513T Piezo Siren Review

Working with electronics and on cars for years now I have used this item, the 513at Piezo Siren in several cars I have owned. I usually install this siren somewhere inside the vehicle so that in the event the car is broken into, this siren will blast at around 110-115 decibels on a loud continous loop. Just within seconds it should annoy and deter any car thief from wamting to draw attention let alone keep wanting to hear this siren blaringin their ears . I would highly recommend this item for anyone putting in an alarm in their vehicle. Take time in having it installed in a place under the dashboard that would not allow easy access to it.

Let me tell you, this siren will cause massive headaches to anyone trying to break in your car. I personally couldn't stand by the hood of my car for more than a minute while it was going off. I have it installed underneath my battery tray facing towards the ground so it'll echo. Well worth the money and time to hook it up. I would recommend this product to anyone as an extra siren as an additional security measure. Buy with confidence.

Good product to protect your car is not so cheap but it satisfied my needs

Works Good

I have it hooked up to a silent paging alarm, and it works good. Sometimes a passing truck will set it off from the vibrations, but it's because I park so close to the road. I notice when it's cold at night the sensitivity is a little less than when the sun has been on the car all day...so set the sensitivity when the interior of the car is hot or you will get false alarms. It's easy to hook up, and seems very reliable after 6 months use. It's good to know when
people are near your car. I have a night vision camera outside and a 7 inch monitor inside, and if the alarm goes off, I look at the monitor and see if it was anything to worry about or not.

Better than DEI sensor

I purchased this proximity sensor to go along with my Clifford 50.5X. This sensor performs better than the DEI sensor. The invisible field is much more consistent. The DEI sensor is to sensitive I think. Just make sure that you install this as close to the center of the vehicle as possible..

Loud and small

This siren delivers a very high pitch sound. Works awesome. This siren size is tiny but loud.

doesn't work outside the car

I have the outside sensitivity set to max and it never senses any foot traffic outside the car. Inside works alright but you do have to move around an awful lot. Once in a blue moon (like maybe 3 times total since ownership about 3 months) it picks up someone walking by the car. It mostly just sets off my radar detector most of the time. Which sucks.

a bit too sensitive

i added the au-194tm instead of the dual shock sensor that came with my alarm.it is very sensitive with the exterior dail turn all the way down any loud vehicle passing by sets it off.also make sure you mount it in the center of your vehicle, on hot days crack your windows cause unit sensitive to heat

Works as it should !!

I have this mounted on my armrest for on the go adjusting depending on the environment that I park my car. I have this set up to where it is installed as the warning trigger feature and my shock sensor as the impact trigger sensor.

The remote start and alarm both work great especially with the glass break sensor and window roll up module I added. The remotes look and feel like good quality remotes. They are actually very similar to the remotes on my old viper alarm. I was actually going to get a viper alarm but my installer told me that Carbine and Viper both come from the same factory and are both very dependable. This alarm is almost half the price and it has a life time warranty which none of the other alarms I have seen have. I would recommend it.

Pain generator!

I bought this siren to install under the dash inside the RV. This was to add extra grief to any thief. Hopefully nobody will break in. But if they do it will be loud inside the cab and not pleasant.
