amazing sub

I purchased a Cerwin-Vega V122D a few months ago, and I was pushing it with a Pioneer GM A5602 amplifier. It didn't sound as hard as I expected it to till I bought a Hifonics ZRX 1000.1D and the gain is not even half way. This subwoofer literally pounds. In a 1.60ft box it sounds amazing. I think it may be underrated, but it has gotten warm on me a few times. I don't have any smell and I back off when it gets warm (really giving it power when it gets warm) I personally talked to their engineer; they are not owned by gibson. This is an American made subwoofer, and it is worth every penny. It isn't an SQ sub at all this is more of an SPL sub than anything. I certainly love the logo. The impedance switch is the best feature ever.

Well built and inexpensive.

I like that everything about this sub is weather resistant. It sealed well in the box I built for it because of soft rubber surround that acts as a gasket. The coil vents are well egineered. Amazingly deep bass in a 1.6 cube ported box tuned to 35 hz and its only on a 300 watt rms amp. Once its broke in I may look into a bit better amp but for now it meets and exceeds my expectations for a single 12" sub at this price.

I recommend these i own the exact version but two 10" subs in my home audio system and these subs sound good with any kid of music you listen to. I listen to all kinds and they have very hard hitting bass. I bet they would sond awesome in a car or truck they been around a long time and sound as good as they did way back.

Meh, it's ok...

I'm used to old school CV being top of the line, and this sub just doesn't stack up to that IMO. It hits, but nothing spectacular. I've had it on a soundstream 1k amp, now on a boss 1500, and I just don't care for the sound quality this one provides.

Decent deal for the price I guess, but I would rather save another 20-50 and go with something else if I had to do it again.
