What a great experience!

I was looking for a marine stereo to replace our out dated model. Clarion had what I wanted and Sonic Electronix provided it at an outstanding value. The ordering process was easy and it shipped quickly. And now, we are enjoying our Pandora and satellite music while on the lake! Thank you Sonic Electronix!

awesome radio

this is the 2nd Clarion Marine radio I have owned. The first one lasted 8 years before the weather finally got to it. Good radio at a reasonable price. The new one plugged right into the existing hole and the wire plug mated up exactly to the old plug. Installed in 10 minutes.

Great replacement!

The CMD8 fit perfectly into the existing opening in my 2006 wakeboard boat with no holes to drill. Easy installation, performs great and works with my existing wired remote,(adapter cable purchased separately) The only drawback is it doesn't have Bluetooth.

CMD 8 radio: Clarion doesn't necessarily stand behind it

I bought one of these in January on the Internet, and it went dead in March. since it was more than 30 days, the Internet retailer I bought it from said I had to deal directly with the manufacturer I sent it off to the Clarion repair center, and guess what, they refuse to touch it because Clarion told them not to as it was not purchased from an "authorized Internet retailer". I called BS, but to no avail. Luckily, the retailer agreed to refund my money, even though was after the 30 days.

I don't understand why big company like Clarion would not go out of their way to service customer who legitimately bought their product. I know these guys have these things made in China and it's just a volume business, but come on.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great product and I actually bought another one, but only since I had the remote already installed and didn't have a choice. Otherwise I probably would have gone in another direction

Great Stereo Deck

I purchased the CMD8 to replace and older model Clarion deck of the same type that was still working. I loved the old one but was looking for the newer technology from the new deck. This is a fantastic product of the highest quality and we love it.

Love this radio only true radio that can withstand the elements of saltwater and high humidity second clarion cmd unit prior had cmd5 no need for cover have it mounted right on dash in the open a must have, installed it myself just plug and play since had older unit same plug

cool replacement to the CMD5

Sonic was the best price for the recommended replacement. However what was not clear either on Clarions web site or any where else was that the CMD8 has only 4 out going channels and the CMD5 had 6. My wake board boat was set up for 6. The install was seamless except not enough channels. Resolved the problem with a "Wet Sounds equalizer" purchased at my local car audio store came with a PA system to boot.
Sonic sent the unit out very quickly and answered all my questions.

Does What It Needs to Do Well

Purchased unit short time ago to replace a older Clarion sealed unit of approximately the same size. Specifically wanted a sealed unit so I would not have to use a splash cover and I also wanted the wiring connection to match. Pros: Unit plugged right in so no splicing was required. Looks good and has an easily readable LCD screen. Sounds very good with FM radio which I use a lot and excellent playing CD's. Seems to pick up radio stations fairly well even with the under the seat ski boat radio antenna. The controls are laid out well and the two turn knobs are large making them easy to use. Buttons have some size also so they are easy to operate. Unit has a lot of features for customizing the sound to your liking. Cons: Two bottom mounting screw holes are partially blocked by door making them difficult to install. Control functions are a little hard to learn and the manual instructions are average. No bluetooth so beware but that was not an issue with me. Overall a very nice unit, looks and sounds good and has a lot of features. Very satisfied with the purchase. Rebate was a plus to the value rating.

Boat stereo

Had CMD4 for many yrs. Ate a CD so could only use the radio. CMD8 was exact fit for current chassis. Kind of a no-brainer. Enough wattage for my needs, simple to use & even a little more power. Sonic had a GREAT price compared to anyone else. Delivery was quick. Unit is easy to use & is very attractive.
