Excellent product

It fits perfectly in my jetta mkIV so i can install my pioneer avhp3350bt like an original radio!

Easy to install, nearly perfect

Installed this in my 2000 VW Golf without too many problems. For best results, I had to pop out the heater control bezel to make sure I could get it fit perfectly. Otherwise, looks great, sits flush with the dash, and my double-din unit looks great!

Pretty Good

Fits my 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T perfectly. The bottom part does not snap in however or once did and has now come loose. Not noticeably though.

mounts fit the car perfectly but, the inner trim was smaller than the radio and had taken over an hour to shave the plastic down so that the radio cold fit in

Perfect and clean fit!

I own a 2004 VW Jetta GLI and used this product along with a pioneer AVIC Z110BT and it works like a charm. Looks stock and very clean. Fits perfect! Recommend!

Item fits great into my vehicle, however I had to shave it down to fit my stereo. After modification it fits great. Couldn't get item from speacialty shop, perfect for application.

Does not stay in the dash

This is a poor quality insert that does not keep my stereo in the dashboard of my Volkswagen Passat. Find something else to mount it with.

Pure crap

Had this professionally installed only to find out the next button does not work and the source button only works when you push it 20 times if your lucky. So now I have to remove it. So I guess I should have paid more money at a local stereo shop to leave with a deck that works. Also the Clarion cx305 feels and looks cheap. You can't even read the screen in the sun. Don't buy this

Best Purchase

The wiring harness may look like a head scratching stressful mess but don't worry, its easier than it looks. Anyone can set up this radio. The directions that it came with a whole lot easier. The product was very good in quality.

Not all functions work on Passat Wagon B6

If you are using this adapter in a 2006 to 2010 Passat Wagon the RAP does not work. I spoke to the Axxess rep and he said that there is a software glitch between the adapter and the Passat. Axxess will have to release a new model to fix this issue. Also, for the Pioneer DVD head units that need the parking break on/off/on signal, the adapter will randomly work.

Works great after adaption

Does the job and fits well, but I had to cut down the adapter to fit my stereo.

Perfect for VW Passat 2003

No problem for a VW Passat 2003. Had trouble to remove the original stereo, but then it was very easy to fit the new stereo using the Metra

Clean look

Stock VW radio was hard to remove but the kit fit very nicely and is extremely easy to install. The only problem with this kit is it is just as hard if not harder to remove than the stock radio.

The only criticism I have with this unit is it has so many features that it has a bit of a learning curve. It works as advertised - good value for the price and once you figure out which button does what it is enjoyable to operate

Nice looking, simple remote, complex functions, many features, sounds great!

The sound is great! I thought a simplified remote would indicate simplified setup and operation but not so. Less buttons means more variations of combinations. It sounds great though. A remote with more buttons would actually be better. The sound is great and the installation was almost flawless. The blue wire has to get connected to the red wire to power on. Tech support quickly pointed that out in a few minutes (cudos) and it came up working. The clock was difficult to set the time but using a combination of the remote and face plate buttons I finally got it. Read the manual. It might help to post the manual as a PDF online so people can see what is involved in operation and setup before deciding to buy. My wife likes it so far so that is good. The automatic station search is a great feature and the bluetooth pairing to phone was easier than the clock setting. Did I mention it sounds great in my wife's Saturn L200? Oh, if installing in a Saturn you may want to get some fillers for the sides since the unit is not as wide as the factory model. Also, be sure to save the mounting brackets. I did not and had to get some aluminum pipe straps from the hardware store and cut them to similar shape for mounting. I soldered all the wires so that took some time but still it was only about 2 or 3 hours for it all. Probably would not take the average person that long. I'm an analyst so you know I have to analyze everything first.

Awesome Features

Looks Great and has all the features I was looking for. Like Bluetooth, Xm, & and Pandora. Not the easiest to learn & work all the things it does but I'm working on it.

I'm pleased enough with it. The instructions were a little lacking, but what became apparent after looking at it for a bit was there are 2 harnesses which can plug into the box, and to me I used the one that was wired to the stereo's power wires and it worked. Also it needs to be programmed to the car by turning the key on for 30 secs to a minute with all doors closed.

The retained power feature did not work in my 2006 Jetta. It is supposed to leave the radio on after you remove key until the door is opened, but mine just turns off with the key. Not a big deal really, it'd be nice if it worked though.

Monsoon compatible

Was confused on all the different harness adapters out there. This one even says non amplified, but it is THE one to use if you have a Mk4 jetta/golf (bora) with amplified monsoon system.

Perfect fit

I mean, what can I say. Fits like a glove... and not the one OJ Simpson had. This dash kit fit around my Pioneer double din like a loose condom. The set screws lined up and I thought it was going to not fit correct, but to my surprise the stereo lined up perfect as well. The fit inside the dash was tight (ohhhhhh yeahhhh giggity!). In the end the metra kit was the best choice because of the tight fit and the slight adjustability when setting the stereo, it gives an OEM flush look.

Used for 2009 vw jets aftermarket radio. I heard a lot of people who bought a regular harness had trouble with power issues. So I decided to buy this 1 and had no issues other than wiring. It took me a while to figure it out.

2002 jetta single din radio instal

At first it worked as advertised although after a few day the product was intermittent on working... I would turn the car off and the radio would remain on not sure if I bout the wrong unit.. I know the wiring is hooked up correctly it's color coded..... but it sometimes works and then all of a sudden quits working so I will be emailing the them for a solution

Priced right

This is must when putting an aftermarket headunit in a VW; I know someone that went to an audio shop and they didn't use one of these; they just cut into the wires so now his car shuts off or the lights go out at night. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

took out a boss that have severe feedback and ground issues. wish i bought this one first. crystal clear and great sound once i figured out how to setup subwoofer. only complaint is subwoofer setup is stupid but once you got it it is nice.
