Perfect fit for me!

This radio is nothing special but it fit the bill! My cd player went out and I listen to nothing but CD's so I needed something cheap. This was perfect. Works good and looks great!

poor clarion quality

just recvd this, and installed it. CD player made loud grinding noise, would not recognise audio or MP3 CDs, also did not want to eject CDs.Menu button not working - so I could not access Fader/Balance/Bass/Treble. I like Clarion because of great sound quality - but this lemon will make me buy Sony. ** Poor Quality **

good features, better price

Got this to put in my 92 accord. Once i got it hooked up, it was amazing. Im running 4 6.5" clarion speakers with it, and the clarity is awesome. The custom eq option really gets into depth, you can select bass, mid and treble levels, as well as frequencies and seperate gains for lows, mids and highs. Built in subwoofer volume control was a big plus for me, i can turn it down a bit for rock/metal, and turn it back up for rap with the touch of a button. However, the only confusing part was getting it to work. you have to set the preouts to sub for this control to do any good, took me a few days to figure this out (maybe it would help if i read the manual, lol).

No cons, excellent head unit for the price and for its capabilities. The only downfall for me is the single set of preouts. Ive now decided i want to run seprate amps for my fronts and rears, so im going to have to get another unit with 3 sets of pre outs but this doesn't affect the ratings in any way. I should have thought of this before i ordered.

Moderately satisified

The unit itself is nice. Many functions and easy to use. Only disappointment was the owners manual. Extremely limited in the explanation of the functions, as well as how to operate. I had to go to youtube for more detailed instructions. Otherwise, the unit is very nice.

Good Product, just wish more features

The following review is for a previous version (CZ109).

I would recommend this as an entry level radio. The only thing that is frustrating is that you cannot adjust bass, treble or fading. This is the only thing that I would like to see different.

Alright

The following review is for a previous version (CZ101).

This unit is pretty good for the 79 bucks you pay for it. Although when you turn the radio on the signal goes in and out and makes listening to music kinda annoying. Its like the volume warbles a bit and its done this in three separate units. I would try to find a better one.

Good Value

The following review is for a previous version (CZ109).

This unit was easy to install in cramped quarters, it has a great look and an ease of operation, it has ample power for my small car and the price was a real plus.

Its A Great Buy!!!!!!!!!

The following review is for a previous version (DB185MP).

I just got the Clarion DB185Mp and it is amazing. I don't have anything like subs, new speakers, etc. but this head unit is perfect. It has 4 equalizers including a customizable one. This makes my factory speakers sound amazing. I planning on getting subs, so its nice that it has sub control. I would recommend this to any one who wants to boost the bass in their stock system. I just can't wait until i get my subs and new speakers. But if you want to get a good brand name which exceeds expectations look at this item.

Surprisingly good sounding

The following review is for a previous version (CZ100).

This is quite a nice stereo for the price. The sound is really alive, even through a pair of 10 year old Infinities blown to kingdom come. I quickly replaced them with some new Pioneer TS-G1342R 5 1/4 inch speakers, and am quite pleased with the crisp, taut sound. Personally, I think this system sounds better than a Pioneer DEH-P4600 head unit I bought 9 years ago for 300 dollars (it was chalk full of features and almost over-engineered for the time). Other notable things about this head unit are the EQ options. For bass, mid, and treble, you have the ability not only to change the gain, but to customize the frequency and Q (except on treble, which you can only change frequency and gain). The only cheesy things I found about this stereo are that there is a 1 second hesitation after you hit most buttons, like if you are changing radio channels for instance.

I think I really got a bargain. Now the real test will be to see how long it lasts before the face starts to malfunction, or the CD player goes on the fritz.

Good Stuff

The following review is for a previous version (CZ100).

Just got this in my Lumina put it in myself. After the whole installation process and its all hooked up, this is a great heady for the money! And since they give you the free mounting kit, and wiring harness for your car its real easy to do yourself. And not to mention free shipping man its just a good deal, and i received it on the scheduled date too. SHOUT OUT TO SONIC ELECTRONIX i will never again go to my local car audio store and get ripped off thanks to you. I am very satisfied and with this product and yes i do recommend it to everyone.

Value!

The following review is for a previous version (CZ100).

Great value on this head unit. For an entry level head unit, this one has a couple of features that none of the other entry level head unit brands include on theirs. It is ready for the steering wheel interface, (PAC SWIPS) which will allow you to interface your steering wheel mounted audio controls if you have a car that has them. Also, this entry level deck comes with 2 sets of RCA's instead of one, and it includes the wireless remote! This unit is definitely a better value than most of the other head unit manufacturers.

great on cd side terrible on radio side

The following review is for a previous version (CZ101).

If you are lookin for a great deal on cd players for your car this is it, but if radio stations is your thing stay away from this. I was in the drive way of my local station and it wouldn't even pull it in!!!!!

No problems here.

The following review is for a previous version (CZ100).

I have had no problems with my Carion CZ100. It has a cool look for a low price and seems to work with no glitches.

Hopefully it holds up. My cousin has a similar model that just stopped working on her the other day. She's probably had hers for a lot longer, however.

its good

The following review is for a previous version (DB185MP).

this stereo is very nice for the money. good features, aux in, can play music off my phone. the only slightly annoying thing is when you take the face off and put it back on it does not start playing right away you have to hit the button. other than that its a good stereo for the price.

Great CD player for a very affordable price

The following review is for a previous version (DB175MP).

You won't find anything that sound good for this price. The RMS power is like the Pioneers with high RMS power. You'll see more expensive CD players with less RMS power than this Clarion DB175MP. Another added bonus is it reads MP3 music files and also has an Auxiliary input for your portable MP3 players Great value!

Great HeadUnit

The following review is for a previous version (DB175MP).

Bought one of these for the mother and she loves the piece, simply for the fact that she can play one cd and can listen to it for a week (mp3). When my little sisters ride in her van, they simply plug in their I-Pod and are happy the whole ride. Great price for great "brand-name" head-unit. I also ended buying another for my dad the day after I installed it for mother, even he can function the piece and he's out of the blue when it comes to electronics.

Great Price

The following review is for a previous version (CZ100).

Good product. Has a really good equalizer with awesome subwoofer controls. The only downside is that the volume knob is easily damaged. Still works but is stubborn. Recommended for an inexpensive yet highly adjustable stereo.

BUMPIN !!!

The following review is for a previous version (CZ101).

The overall rating is a 4.6. Look and Design part was good but not the best. The only con was it needed a little more features. Other than that It was a great buy with never any complications whatsoever. And I would recommend this product to anyone trying to get the job done.

Clarion let me down

The following review is for a previous version (CZ101).

I installed this unit this past march in my sister's '92 Honda Accord as an OEM replacement and leading factor in a "bang for your buck" sound overhaul. As far as looks and functionality, this unit has been great. Very user friendly for my sister, who has very limited experience as far as stereos go. Great usability and simplistic beauty we all come to expect from Clarion, both audiophiles, enthusiasts, and noobs alike.

I would also like to confirm a shared concern with another reviewer, the signal on most, if not all radio stations does seem to fade in and out at times. I have heard if a few times, as it almost never happens when I drive the car, but my sister claims it to be so bad she doesn't even use the radio function of it at all anymore! I feel bad for installing a lemon HU in her car, which is quite bothersome since i put so much work into that sound system (custom built rear deck with no pre-wiring or speaker mounts in the rear, soundproofing throughout the truck, rear deck, and door panels, custom built subwoofer enclosure and amp rack, etc)

Long story short, if you have a lot riding on this unit, such as a more elaborate setup, take the safe route and pay a little more on a better head unit. if you are looking for a good bang for your buck, this will work but i would not recommend it as a first option or a final install.

You can't do better for the price

The following review is for a previous version (CZ101).

Was in the market for a head unit and I immediately looked at Clarion because they are one of the few company's that solely do car audio. While this unit is not feature laden it has simple functionality and great simplicity in aesthetic. What I like best about Clarion and this head unit is it shares the same components as the higher priced Clarions but just lacks some connectivity features and other non essential things. But the EQ options are the same and the quality is the same. This is basically a stripped down version of the best Clarion makes. I have Clarion throughout my vehicle and I am never disappointed by their products. also have Clarion EQ, Clarion crossover, Clarion sub, Clarion amp, Clarion 3way door speakers. You may find a feature rich unit at about the same cost but you'd be comparing apples to oranges. You would be hard pressed to find a better QUALITY head unit at this cost. Love the rotary volume/function knob as well. Couldn't be happier with my purchase of this receiver.
